PCGH asks Nvidia on Gameworks

This is still going on? Does anyone seriously believe that AMD/nVidia are purposefully trying to harm the others vendor?

So much is being made of this whole debacle and nothing warranted that I have read.

Plenty of vulcans ;) on here said it wouldn't happen at all and that based Huddy knew that but was point-scoring. :)

Very true. AMD have a good idea what's on the GameWorks contract too, compared to what they have on their contract. They're going to win this PR war whatever Nvidia do i suspect.

It was a "lie" yet it was Huddy himself that corrected his statement? More like he got his facts wrong, but to be overly dramatic its a lie apparently.
Yea, I'd claim I was mistaken if I was caught out as well.

Lets play a little game. Lets imagine that Nvidia PR had made factually incorrect/potentially libellous statements about AMD, on camera, and said claims made quite a few headlines.

OK got that?

Now then.. Imagine that a week or so later, they quietly slipped out that what they said had no basis in fact or reality, that it was all a terrible mistake.

How many different threads do you think we would have on the first page?

I imagine to the faithful yes they will. To team green not so much. To those on the fence.. who knows, but only one PR department has been telling porkies on camera. ;)

Edit: To everyone else tired of this whole mess. I do apologise for the continued poking of this particular horizontal equine, but watching the mental acrobatics required to absolve Huddy of any wrong doing is pure gold.

The only gold thing in here is the tribal mentality and sensationalism being displayed, some of you are really missing out on your true calling working for the Daily Mail.
Funny thing is, I once worked for AMD. :)

Now before the peanut gallery put 2+2 together and get 79. It was over 14 years ago, and it was a happy parting of the ways.

And you are blinded by your love for AMD, I do not see you in Nvidia threads saying the same thing. What you accuse of you are guitly of.

Referring to this subsection in general.

Who rattled your cage? I've no "love" for amd or any other vendor, its a friggin piece of hardware I put inside a computer. Sooner some of you realise that and put away the pitchforks and torches the better.

On this you are wrong. I have seen Gerard complain about AMD in a few recent threads. He is one of the few people on this forum that seems to have no bias either way.

Indeed I've done plenty of bitching about the amd coolers and the 7990, the card that amd put out that in retail form was a night and day difference from the review samples in terms of temps and noise, 75c load and whisper quiet in reviews to 95c plus and a tornado in your case in retail form. Talk about cherry picked review samples...why review sites never picked up on that and made an issue of it I'll never know.

Apparently you can't own a card on this forum and still be objective, or do I have to do what one poster on here does and own an amd system and put them down at every turn?

I don't think you have to own an AMD system to do that :)
I also don't think you have to sing AMD's praises every second of every day just because you own AMD hardware either.

Some people think I'm constantly negative about my AMD cards, but I'm not. I have a couple of niggles with them and I won't hide them just because it's AMD and they're supposed to be perfect. I don't complain about Nvidia cards because I'm not using Nvidia cards. Well except for Titan Z prices, I think we all moan about them.
Apparently because I own AMD I also should be a blind Mantle supporter, which I'm not. That seems to annoy a few too. But when I owned Nvidia I wasn't evangelical about PhysX either.
I think some people think I hate AMD because I don't hate Nvidia.

Wasn't you I was referring to, looking back im not even sure it was on this forum, think im getting mixed up with someone on the hardocp forum.

Regardless the "fanboy" tag is applied far too easily, people seem to automatically assume that no matter what card you own you're a flag waver for that brand. =/

Indeed. I've been called a nVidia fanboy, an AMD fanboy and back to a nVidia fanboy again. Just based on what I'm using at that time.

The less intelligent folk here aren't able to digest what's being said to them without seeing it in a pro/anti GPU vendor light and dragging it down to that level.

Banter, however, is a different matter. I'll always get involved in some of the banter about it all. You should see Greg in a BF server :D :D :D.

The whole PR war is childish though.

Agreed.

Less time arguing and more time spent producing actual new hardware :p

Same here, I buy purely on what my budget will allow and what deals I can get. Will always go for the best hardware my budget allows for, regardless of being AMD or Nvidia. Some people just seem to have be in one camp or the other. Never understand that strange sense of loyalty, imho should only be loyal to your own wallet (Budget). Get the best you can when you can, try not to get caught up in the PR crap. That's exactly what they want you to do lol.

I don't think it's childish when billions of dollah are at stake. ;) Anytime Nvidia do something scuzzy we're told "it's a bizniz, u dont understaaaaand", this whole PR war is a result of AMD getting serious again about taking on NV. First we saw Gaming Evolved, then Never Settle, then the big hot Hawaii (playing NV's game), Mantle/TrueAudio etc, an answer to ShadowPlay and now AMD are attacking NV's perception advantage in the public's collective mind. Arguably the biggest advantage!

So, this is AMD coming at the Green Goblin in a very calculated way, they have almost nothing to lose in the public perception stakes - they're already seen as the cheapo brand. NV however, lose either way in the contract show n tell. Either AMD will nitpick it and make hay with it or they'll be assumed guilty if they shy away.
