I've got my build up and running, but I had a slight problem installing the graphics card, I wasnt able to put into the top slot as it would have been very close to the CPU heatsink (Scythe Ninja 3), so I ended up putting it into the bottom PCI-E slot.

From looking at GPU-z its telling me its running at x8, is this likely to mean much performance wise?

Oh yea my mobo is a MSI P67A-GD55.

What gpu are you running? As said, you're not likely to see a noticeable difference - there might be a bit of a bottleneck on a 580gtx or similar. I think the 5870 loses about 4-5% performance when running on a x8 when compared to a x16.

Well on the ninja cooler I can put the in take fan on any side, I have it at the bottom, close to the first pci-e slot, the other options are right beside out take fans which I thought wasnt a good idea.

I have a haf-x btw.

if you are concerned, then put it in slot 2, run some benches, turn the cpu fan around, put it in slot 1, run some benches, if the scores are are miles apart then look at your cooling situation, if not, then slap it in slot 2 in the comfort it makes little difference :)

too close to the fan.... it does not matter if its close to the gpu for instance i have a extra fan sitting on my gpu cooling the other side of the gpu and cpu!
