PCIe RAID Card - Performance drop?

Hi all,

This is the PCIe RAID controller that I'm looking to use to connect 2 new 160GB SATA hdd's together in RAID 1 data mirroring. Would there be any sort of noticeable drop in hdd read/write IO times using this controller? or performance in general?

If you're doing RAID 1 then I would suggest doing it through the controller on your mobo or the cheapest PCI card you can find as with any solution the performance drop with be about nothing.

As long as it's a hardware based RAID solution, shouldn't matter too much what connection is.

Awesome, cheers guys. I'll get a real cheap PCIe card then (can't seem to find a decent mATX motherboard with onboard RAID right now).
