Right... I've been looking at loads of models, but what I'm really after is a device that does all the following:
  • PDA with VGA screen
  • Phone capabilities (3G a bonus, GPRS acceptable)
  • GPS
  • 3.5mm audio jack <- why do no PDA phones have this?!?
  • Nice big screen
  • Prefer no keyboard
  • WM6

Nothing currently seems to meet this spec, the biggest problem seems to be the lack of a proper audio jack.

Anything on the horizon?

You can get a converter for all the htc phones, either mini-usb to 3.5mm or 2.5mm to 3.5mm. Just keep it attatched to the end of your headphones with a bit of tape :)

Yeah I'm just paranoid of snapping it off - particularly the mini-usb sockets.

The most viable phone for my needs looks to be the E-ten X800, at the moment, but it's not as attractive as the X500+.

Or the latest HTC (sadly no VGA though)

My HTC trinity is the best PDA/Phone/GPS (tomtom loaded) device ever.
Got Windows Mobile 6 running and I use it every day.

(no audio jack though mate - sorry)

Both look ok - but again, no VGA, and a 2.5mm jack...

After a quick hunt, the most promising I could find was the:

i-mate Ultimate 8150

No 3.5mm jack again! But everything else looks good, spec-wise.

Bah you're right.

Ah well, one day someone will make the perfect music player / PDA / GPS / email / phone thing and it'll be great.

I've even considered the iPhone, but the O2 contract pricing is totally ridiculous.

Orange SPV M700 has WMP10, gps, email, big touch screen, nice camera... the list goes on!

Still not quite what I'm looking for... but I think a VGA screen (640 x 480) might be a bit overkill for a 2.6 inch screen, so I'm rethinking what I actually need vs. what I'd like!

The best out imo is the HTC Kaiser. Basically a TyTn thats slightly smaller, better camera, more memory & GPS.

Ive had a kaiser since release but thinking of swapping it for a P750 as i love the form factor of it.

If you want a VGA phone probably the best to go with would be the ETEN X800

Nope

Its not out til November though...if you cant wait that long there's the toshiba g900

Edit:

Ooops sorry not sure if im allowed that link?....if not ill delete it.

BEAT YOU TO IT :) - Dangerous

i had a look at that i-mate ultimate there, it says it comes with setero headphones, so you could get creative and create a cable that you could plug you own headphones into
