Yes, but Americans also call trousers "pants", so they don't deserve a say in the matter :p
Jelly can be either the "jelly" you mix with boiling water, pour into a mould and stick into the fridge to set, or a JLS (jam-like substance).
The difference is:
Jam is made with all of the fruit after it's been boiled etc, so you will end up with seeds and lumps of fruit.
Jelly is made with the liquid drained off after the fruit has been boiled & pressed; it's far more consistent in texture and is usually transparent.
Hmm, I never realised jelly can be like jam, so does this mean that many of the "Jams" without seeds/pulp etc are actually jellies?

Despite yesterday being Tuesday, we had one of our usual 'Friday afternoon' discussions in the office.

Someone said that peanut butter is better than cheese and that's what sparked it off.

Bottom line question: If you walked into a room and there was a table, one side had peanut butter and the other had cheese. Which side would you go to?

GD need to debate this!
At the risk of someone already having said it, and I certainly don't intend to read 3 pages of thread to find out, I prefer my tables to be wood, or at a push, plastic, not either cheese or PB.

If we're talking about which I prefer to eat, I'm happy enough with both, but it depends on circumstances. PB works well with celery, but so does cheese. I like cheese, parmesan to be specific, grated into/onto a really rich Bolognese with pasta, but I don't see a dollop of PB working.

If there were two sandwiches on a table, which would I pick? It depends on what cheese, and what PB. Some commercial PBs are so full of salt and preservatives I wouldn't touch them, and some cheeses are superb while some are foul, and others (like parmesan) are superb in some uses and horrible in others. A parmesan sandwich? No, thanks.

Finally, if it were a good quality cheese (perhaps with other things) in one sandwich and a good PB in the other, which would I prefer? I like both, so it would depend on what I fancied at the time.

And that is enough, or in truth, far too much time spent on a daft question .... unless the OP happens to be in the process of making me a sandwich at the time.

Still, PC=PC+1. That's good. I suppose.

Peanut butter, I'm lactose intolerant. (may also contain milk though, I guess)

If your peanut butter contains milk you're doing it wrong, very, very wrong.

Funny story though when I was a kid and I was left alone in the kitchen I did try mashing peanuts and butter together to make peanut butter :o:D

I like cheese, I like peanut butter. Cheese is lame on it's own though, throw some cucumber or tomato on it and mmm m mm. Peanut Butter needs nothing added.

Cheese is a vital ingredient in the greatest food known to man (Pizza).

The choice, if you can call it that is obvious.

Cheese is a lifestyle.

Eat, drink, eat, sleep cheese.

Just cheese it.

Cheese, probably the greatest cheese in the world.
