Pearl Harbor

You bring shame to your family. Kill yourself.
Terrible film, the same level of terrible as Titanic....same director?

Nope. James Cameron. And Titanic is the highest US (and world?) grossing film. Millions of people can't be wrong.

I thought Titanic was pretty good at the time. :o

I was a bit more interested in the ship/sinking though, than the whole Leo and Kate love thing.

Pearl Harbour could have been made into three films

* The Love Story
* The Attack on Pearl Harbour
* The mission after Pearl Harbour

I only enjoyed the Attack on Pearl Harbour bit

So you need to be told or shown that it's a great film, then it must be? As for oscars..back handers tbh. Cost so much the studio couldn't afford for it to flop.

Which was that exactly? So what if it was the highest grossing film?

Despite you finding it bad, which is fine. I understand you may find the script and love story cheesy, so did I. I'm saying it's achievements below were very well done and deserved many of the awards.
Cinematography
Costume Design
Direction
Art direction
Sound and visual effects
Editing
Music
and more

That's what I can appreciate, even if there are other flaws in the film. (e.g. Kate Winslet not going fully nude)

Oh, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has 6000 members, are they all paid off?

God knows who keeps giving Michael Bay money to make movies - I mean... look at his film history...

Some of the most mindless pieces of crap ever put to celluloid....

Oh hell... they've got him do a new Friday 13th film and a remake of The Birds... :(
That's just wrong, I went to Bodega Bay a couple of weeks ago just because it's where Hitchcock filmed he Birds...
