Penguins are no longer gay

It annoys me that this happened in Australia, for some reason I saw them as the last bastion of not giving a **** about things like this.

Also, Queensland? By their logic, isn't the whole damned region offensive to dinner mashers?

Actually i have heard a rumour that there are people are whinging about the states name:o:(:rolleyes:

I can (kinda) see the loginc in renaming them but come on, "little penguins"? Could they not have shown at least some originality and put some thought into renaming them?

I vote for "Super Mini Ninja Diving Penguins"

Fairies to be renamed "mythical tiny winged people".
Faggots to be renamed "bundles of wood".
Queen to be renamed "old bird with a crown".
Mincers to be renamed "meat squidgers".
Bender to be renamed "amusing robot".

Almost on the same subject, here's a scan of a pre-release copy of a movie, translated to Turkish.

The title says, literally, 'Faggot Cowboys'. :D

In an act of political correctness gone overboard, Sea World theme park operators on the Gold Coast changed the name of their star attraction to avoid being "offensive".
Rebecca Smith, spokeswoman for Sea World, confirmed: "We didn't want to upset the gay community.

Judith Henke, spokeswoman for Melbourne Zoo, said the zoo's fairy penguins were properly titled "little blue penguins", but she added that it hadn't "crossed anybody's mind to rename them because of the gay community".

Looks like oz zoo's have had a re-think and stopped calling them by their common name and are using their real name - little blue penguins. The response from Melbourne zoo (where the fairy penguins are most often seen in the wild) seems much more realistic - a few academics thinking the common name is silly and re-titling the exhibits.

The 'Sea World theme park' spokeswoman sounds like she's a few slices short of a picnic, could be the girl who cleans the muck out for all we know.

If it's offensive then I retract it.

It was just a joke and I think you've taken it the wrong way.

If you need them to be explained, how can they be offensive?

</pedant>

Also, it's bask, not basque. Basque is a region of spain, or a woman's bodice.

</further pedantry>

Also, this post isn't intended to be a troll, more a sort of philosophical diversion.

as for the rest of it, its bull****

faggot,
gay,
queer,
puff,
fairy,
shirt lifter,
man hole inspector,

and a ton of other names are what a certain percentage of straight people have come up with over the many years to describe homosexual men in a derogatory way. (but not homosexuality as a whole, due to these types of people being utter hippocrits in that they find 2 woman perfectly acceptable simply because they have no moral spine and ethical standards what so ever)

the simple fact is, the people who use these words are fairly simple minded people who see something they dont understand, something they think will directly effect them, and they lash out at it because quite simply, their too thick to actually debate it properly.

the gay community will always be here, full stop. currently theres around 4 million of us in the U.K. and if you factor in Dr kinseys work (i know some of it was flawed) plus later studies, youl find theres an estimated half a billion gay people around the world, so as you can see, its not going anywhere fast...

as for what gay people think of these words? we really dont care, 100 years of idiots so utterly moronic that youd be hard pressed to find the difference between them and a mental patient have taught us to adapt, you use words against us negatively, we will then take said words and use them for fun ourselves. so what ever the latest PC craze is, know that it didnt stem from gay people, it stemmed from people at the opposit end of the spectrum, from those who wish to risk offending no one, and who believe to do so would be a terrible offence.
