There's a Tesco petrol station near work I go to, and the stupidity of people really amazes me.

The entrance is off a roundabout which also serves the entrance to the tescos store car park on a different exit, the whole roundabout has yellow hash box for no stopping.

There is quite a large bit of dead space on the petrol station forecourt before the actual pumps.

So when all the pumps are being used clever people rather than pick a pump to queue behind decide to sit at the entrance. This in turn backs up the traffic all around the roundabout and blocks off *** other exits. The space infront of the pumps is rather large and could fit loads of cars in queued up behind specific pumps.

Tonight I just got ticked off with it, tooted my horn at one point, and when it got to just one car infront of me who was just sitting there I went round them to queue at a pump. Note I didn't go round them to a free pump, I merely picked one to sit and wait behind.

The woman in the car I went round wasn't happy, she said I was impatient etc etc. I explained patience had nothing to do with it, it was common sense to stop traffic backing up, she however just said I wanted to get infront of her. Wish I said she could gladly go infront of me as all I wanted to do was get rid of the jam, but didn't think of it at the time.

Anyyway she kept moaning how I just wanted to get infront of her so I just walked off and waited in the car, and I'd say she was well into her 50s so not a young pup (sorry to anyone well in their 50s :) )

I was just astounded that the woman could only think that the only reason for me pulling infront was as I wanted to go first, she really wouldn't accept that by her sitting there she was causing a problem.

The really annoying thing is the station used to have a sign telling people to pull forward but it's been replaced with one saying about their new opening times due to a refit :(

Luckily pretty much everyone around me agreed and laughed at her which was nice :)

I know it's not very interesting, but just bugged me :)

agree entirely, i worked at a Shell station whilst at college and just about everybody did this, hanging back to see which line was moving quickest, the dangerous bit was the entrance was off a busy a-road and traffic was frequently backed up onto the road. The stupidity of some people amazes me.

people who refuse to use the wrong side pump!!!!

i get dirty looks when i jump the cue of two cars or whatever on the left side and reverse the car in to the right hand side which is totally empty and fill up.

oh and people who enter roundabouts without the exit being clear bugs me immensely as well!

that does sound abit stupid, just pick a pump, your gonna get on eventually

Unless your car is rather large you don't even need to do that.

Nearly every time I go to a pump I use one on the left despite my filler cap being on the right as they never seem as busy.

My car is a fair size (mk3 Mondeo) and I'm yet to encounter a pump that wont reach when I pull close to the pump.

Some people really shouldn't be allowed to own a car. I've arrived at a petrol station just in time to see the petrol cashier run out and stop a guy filling his radiator reservoir with the petrol pump.

christ. fancy being told by a woman that youre impatient. they own the sole rights to impatience, maybe thats why she was upset.

petrol stations during the day time make me want to cry

You know what REALLY gets on my nips at Tesco filling stations?

Idiots, and Pay at the pumps.

If you intend to do NOTHING more than fill your car up, or put £20 or whatever then pay with your debit card, PAY AT THE PUMP YOU ****** MORON.
DO NOT put your £20, walk to the shop and then stand for 5 minutes in a que of other morons all paying by debit card and just buying petrol.
PAY AT THE PUMP and drive off, its that simple.

During the day a lot of people filling up will be company car/van drivers who need a vat receipt.

No clubcard points for pay at pump either.

The pumps give you a reciept with a VAT number on it.
I know they do, i do it, to claim my vat back.

There is no excuse.

Some of them don't give you a receipt though, that is the problem. If they don't give you a receipt, there is NO way of getting one...

unless you line up to pay. Besides, you can't buy chocolate bars at the pump, can you?

Stupid woman, some people really are clueless. What gets my goat are people who sound their horn at you for not using the front pump meaning they have to wait a bit longer. Does it occur to them you are using the middle or back one because the front one doesn't do the fuel you need? Yes moron I am using this pump and not the one in front becuase the front one doesn't do diesel/V-Power etc. I am normally pretty quick (well as quick as the pump allows) and if there is a queue as soon as I have filled up I pull forward/park up so that other people can use the pump whilst I pay.
