couple people i know do it. ranging from work colleagues and friends.

LMAO. its not normal

why do they do it. i think they dont know half the time. its like they space out and passively start making these dumb noises, probably out of boredom

Depends on the noise and the frequency.

When I become really nervous, I'm prone to doing things like that. Most of the time, I don't even notice I'm doing it. Fortunately for me though, I rarely get nervous enough to trigger it.
