People who swing out before turning corners

i do it fi driving the old mans car, feels like a barge even though its not much longer. (passat, against my mondeo)

People often start to swing out on any kind of bend, then (the lucky ones) spot my trailer alongside them.....

Despite something so big being next to them, a fair percetage STILL insist on starting a drift.

Muppets imo. :p :D

reminds me of a time when my dad went to swing out to get round a corner with his 60ft transporter loaded with JCB's. But he couldnt get round because of a car positioned in totally the wrong place.

This woman in the car got out ranting and raving asking my dad where on earth he thought he was going, swinging out for a corner. My dads response "Its not a ******* pram, now please remove your car out the way"

Needless to say i think she saw sense. It also amazes me how many people try to come up the inside of an artic on roundabouts  Dont do it :D

One thing that always gets me about arctic drivers is their use of indicators. I've learnt how to read them now, but when I'd just passed I was easily confused.

It seems quite the norm to indicate away from the direction you are turning at roundabouts and such, I suppose to let others know you are going to occupy a significant portion of the other lane when performing the turn. Initially I just assumed they weren't sure where they were going, and had to change their minds at the last minute. Makes sense now, but seemed really weird at first :p

I do this sometimes. In order to make some corners > than 90 degrees I have to take a wider line into the corner. Cars with normal turning circles shouldn't have to do this though.

Thats pretty much it mate ,alas, your in the minority of motorists who consider the room & space required to turn a long trailer around a bend / roundabout.

*Hand Up* :(

I do, but only in the old parts of the towns where i deliver where the streets are smaller and tighter.. honest..

Yeah hate it when people do that with others around them.. ill do it on a totally empty road late at night still tho lol..

Yeah amazes me how many fools dont give a artic room lol.. my dads driven them for years so im quite aware how much room they take up etc on roundabouts and stay back until its safe to pass... none of this F&F style under the trailer stuff lol

I have to do it to turn into the lane up to my garage... but only because it's a 120 degree turn and my car has the turning circle of an ocean liner! :D

Not as bad as cutting the corners when turning into a road IMO, I see this all the time.
Was going to say the same thing. I only cut a corner into an estate if I can see it's clear. The amount of times people do it without looking is shocking :/
