People with phones playing videos in public without headphones

I'm affaid I am guilty of this, but only when I'm struggling to get my 2 year old to eat, I never have the volume loud though. CBeebies on iPlayer is a lifesaver

Also, people having phone conversations on public transport on speakerphone.

A lot of people don't care about other people anymore. They'll just play videos loudly on their phone on the train without thinking about other people.

I think that's slightly more acceptible.

It's more the groups of kids thinking it's ok to playing music off their phone at full volume whilst on the train!

As a kid of the late 80s / early 90s, I used to play Michael Jackson on my tape recorder out loud. I also used the tape recorder to record people and play it back for giggles. I stopped doing this when I was about 14.

The same logic should apply with mobile phones past age 14, so I agree with the OP if he's on about adults who still do this.

I think sometimes it is on purpose as a kind of "look at me" thing, and when you do look they love the attention and getting brave with the "yeah what!?" looks back. Like they want it to offend and annoy and raise a public argument.

Other times I think people have no concept as to how when they have to have something at a volume level that they can hear it, the rest of the train carriage/bus/room/public place can also hear it very easily.

Other times it's a bit of the above, mixed in with a healthy dosage of just don't give a **** coz my need is greater than anyone elses right now to hear this for me me me.

It truly sickens me the level of entitlement and lack of realisation as to how ones actions affect others these days. People are much more selfish in life with everything now. It really has become the world of "I'm alright jack".

They are just teenagers usually who either think they are cool or hard because they are being ***** and no one does anything about it.

Same sort that walk across the road at 2mph to show how hard they are because you, in a car don't run them down. No mate, I don't hit you with my car because unfortunately I would get sent to prison and a scrote like you is barely worth the effort to beep my horn.

I did this the other day, was wondering why my headphones were quiet turns out it was playing through my phone. Luckily I was just watching a car video

Now I'm not a racist, but....

Yep every bus or train I go on, no matter what time of day, what country has a guy screaming in Arabic or Hindi, down a mobile phone.

I thought they were employees of tfl adding authentic ambience to your commute home....

I wonder if you travel abroad to Kabul do you get people screaming English on public transport?

What I find weird is if said person is blasting music around, and someone asks him to turn it down, then the said person gets offended like he didn't start the incident.

Top points for doing it at max volume next to the "quiet zone" notices on the windows of trains when sat in a packed commuter morning peak into London Waterloo.
