Percentage of space on SSD before performance drop

Hi, I've just ordered an Agility3 60GB and was wandering if SSDs were similar to HDDs in that you need to leave a bit of space to keep them quick.

I've tried searching but haven't found any results ^^

The more free space, the easier it is for garbage collection to keep up. Remember though that the Agility 2+ and Vertex 2+ have compression - the amount of disk space taken up is probably 50-60% of the figure quoted in Windows.

Also, your drive will slow to "settled-in" speeds once all NAND has been written to once. This'll probably happen very quickly after you've had the drive and there's nothing you can do about it (my 120 GB Vertex 2 has 1 TiB written after 4.5 months so it probably happened after a week or two). This'll reduce your incompressible write speeds but luckily an OS drive doesn't usually see many of these.

Cheers guys, not too bothered about write speeds, just like to be able to read quickly. Is write speed affected more than read speed?
