Ahh, ok, I thought the initial 535d was 253 or am I thinking of a revised 530i before the LCI hike.

the 535d went from 272 to 286.

not sure where you got 253 from.. the 530i went from 231 to 272.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaahhh, No.

The 530i went:

2004 - 2005 - 231bhp
2006 - 2007 - 255bhp
2007 - on - 272bhp

535d went 265 to 286bhp

Just checked the brochures.

i'm using PS

the 535d started with 272PS, which is 200kW or 268bhp
it then got a 10kW boost to 210kW, so it now produces 286PS or 282bhp

so 265 to 286 is using different power units.

regarding the 530i, yes i was wrong

it changed from the M54 to the N52, and then the N52 got more power

where's fox when you need him?
i know much more about BMW '90s engines than '00s..
