Have a motor that suits so don't panic, obviously won't be going if I need a snow plough but if it's typical wet wet wet I don't see a problem.

Nice time of the year to do it with May or September being ideal and less busy on the roads. There's always a stray lorry, coach, caravan or camper that snarls up a wee road. A fair amount of them are usually good at letting you by though.
