personal question to anyone who owns a beard

No beard just stubble as anything more looks patchy for me. If you’ve been blessed then why not grow a beard.

Stopped shaving since 22/23 as I find it looks strange, does take a few years off mind you but maybe that’ll be beneficial in a few more years
I haven’t been clean shaven in a decade. I just use a beard trimmer every few days at 2mm and dont bother with anything else.

if I loose the bet, my friend wants me grow .........a beard (im almost 40, I have never wanted facial fur)

the thought of having facial furr worries me

only asking because I'm geeting cold feet thinking about the consequences of what could happen here. i just have visions of it being a fire hazard or something
Honestly you sound like a bit of a pogonophobe. Are you really scared of growing a bit of a beard?

Yes it will itch at probably the 3 week stage, if my experience is normal. It's not insufferable and it won't last long, a week or so.

It gets a little harder to moisturise once it's a few weeks old, as you can't get to the skin. This is the point where I'll switch from skin moisturiser to beard oil as that keeps the skin happier.

Beards are fun and changing things around keeps it interesting! I enjoy changing my routine every 6-12 months, clean shaving, weekly beard trims at 3mm or 6mm, or occasionally growing a massive monster beard for a season or two.

Give it a go! You can feel the wind in it while driving your friend's car.

I have a big beard, would recommend.

Haters are people who can't grow facial hair, like Roar, he gets that patchy bum fluff type affair. Poor chap

I did grow a beard and it just makes me look old, I can understand if you're overweight and need to hide your extra chin underneath a beard though.

I've been goateed since late 6th form then I progressively added more until I achieve a kind of rugged but lazy layer of manlyness.

I had a time were i worked in the city and tried clean shaving for a few years but tbh it was not my thing.
Now I let it grow long but never civil war hillbilly long.
Sometimes about every 6 months I'll properly shave it down to stubble for a week and start again. I really only do this so all the woman i work with tell me how much more handsome I am without a mop on my face, ego booster:p
Beards are cool. My Brother in-law has a Confederate infantryman beard and I'm very jealous of his manlyness as he benches 230kg.... Lol

No real hazard fears... Sometimes a bit of milk in the moustache or a very angry wife when I stubble up her face. Nothing I can't handle.

You know you're on a forum full of geeks when a guy canvases for opinions on growing a beard because he's concerned about the aerodynamic effect on his face, and then the resident beard owners plough ahead with 50 odd posts of "advice" without a single mention of the cunnilingus.

I don't know about you but my beard hasn't won me any more cunnilingus

I haven't bearded for many years, but I remember that when I was bearding, itchiness was a constant irritation.

Had a beard for the last 10 years, 45 now and can honestly say best decision I made. I get a lot of beard envy, no longer have to faff shaving everyday tidy it up as needed. The only thing I remember was when I first grew it the hair was very coarse and cut my lips as it grew out.

Every now and then I contemplate shaving it off but then I come to my senses.

No regrets and I've never set it on fire...

How do you find the aerodynamic drag when you walk?

Between 1mph and 2.5mph it's barely noticeable but once you to start to break out in a confidant stroll then you need to be careful.
Forget running and a beach can a be a dangerous place for a large bushy beard.

A muddy beard after mountain biking is a lot of fun though.
