Personal Reg Plates

my missus has J2CFL but since we got married her initals are now CFC but plates with CFC on are big money

the plate 1 JF on a passat estate made me wonder about how much the car is worth in relation to the plate

saw a cracker today - A8 YAY on an A8 (funnily enough)

Ive seen a plate down here in Oz and it was MY 4rar33 and it was on a barina(corsa to u lot)

SO SLO

ok it's not personal because there arent personal plates in ireland - but I'm not a fan of pretentious personal plates in the UK. If I got one, I'd get something like 3 numbers and 3 letters that meant nothing and I could transfer from car to car.

i like poeple with private plates, me and my freind being quite simple minded will try and guess what there name is and we have met some funny named people:P
it also amazes me with people with verry expensive plates on not verry nice cars, i dont mean not to my taste i mean like awfull rusty ones:P but each to there own and all that i know where i would rather have my money sitting :)
well done to thos that have bougth them and they have gone up in value tho.

For £250 I'm chuffed with mine.

The reg on my exciting car is S41DRO , my company name is SAIDRO .

It was the reg I got the car with so I bought the domain name & trade as it :)

My uncle (Rob Jackson) has, RJ 8881 on his Lexus SC 430. Also my Auntie (Janet Jackson) has, JJ 1846 on her huge Shogun. Both reg's look very good on thier cars, especially my uncles. A mate at work, has V8OSE (no spaces) on his nice black 206. Suits the car well imo. His surname being Vose.

I also see a couple of good reg's on business cars too. A company near me, called Propac has a Yellow Leon Cupra R outside it everyday with the reg PR02 PAC. There is also a new Merc Vito van round the corner. The owner of A1 Shutters drives it around I think and its got 28 XJ as the reg.

The most expensive reg by the looks of things on a car round my area that Ive seen must be, 95 R on a new Range Rover Vogue. Now that must have cost a few quid.

I would defo get a private plate for my car, when I get car. Something with Ben on it somewhere. I kinda like BJ02 BEN. Ben Jackson being my name. For sale @ £1300 currently. If I had the money I would get B3NN4H :D

Where on the RAC site can you check on private plates on cars? I wanna see if B3NN4H has been taken. And if possible see what car BEN 22 is on.

Thanks.

my wife has K15 BAX my dad has S18BAX and Brother has P44BAX looks dads and bros are on there bikes and the wifes on her car looks good when we all pull up together.

It won't have been taken becuase B3NN4H is not a legal plate.

It just isn't.

Saw a Stradale with AC54 FUN the other day...

Oh, and I posted this ages ago and nobody got it, let's see if it fares any better this time.

Why isnt it ?

There are 9 kinds of plate you can have in the UK:

Pre 1931 re-registered aannnn
Old (pre 1953) aaannn
Old (1953-1963) nnnaaa
Old suffix (1963-1983) aaannna
Prefix (1983-2001) annnaaa
Current (2001-) aannaaa
Old NI nnnnaa
New NI aaannnn
Military nnaann

Where a = alpha and n = number

The really early stuff like A1 didn't really conform to any standard.

You also get nnnannn where a can be D or X. These are diplomatic plates. Don't get hit by a car wearing these as there is nothing you can do about it other than claim on your own insurance.

B3NN4H doesn't conform to any of those standards.
