petrol prices

How heavy are Golfs? I know they have a reputation for being a bit lardy, but that consumption sounds pretty poor. My own 1.6 Focus averages about 37MPG I think (Haven't really worked it out recently).

As I said, getting to work is progressive. Ask any of the golf owners with a 1.6, you have to give it some to get going and also it has poor MPG anyways.

So whats the point in a little 1.6 hatch that delivers the economy of a large 2-3 litre saloon?

So why have it :p

Odd. That's only about 100 kilos heavier than mine. Although I make just 98BHP.

I really don't understand the MPG of the 1.6, on my progressive drive to work (which is all country roads), i give the car some stick and get 22 - 25mpg, if i drive like a saint i will see 36 - 37.

If i really go for it this will drop to 12mpg.

Now given my car is 1500kg + and has loads more power its really odd!

However as i've read before, Fox actually gets better mpg than me when on the motorway at 70mph, must be the bigger engine / lower rpm?

Which makes me want a much bigger engined car.

My Fez 1.6 gets 38 to the gallon, what are you doing to get 28? Even if I thrash around I get more than 28.

I don't even drive on motorways.

The Highest price in this area: 114.9p
The Average price in this area: 109.7p
The Lowest price in this area: 106.9p

That aint that high yet, you should see the prices here:

The cheapest place around here costs:
1.48 €/litre which is 1.16 GBP/litre ( for euro 95)
The more expensive places and the price advice stands @ €1.59 now, which is 1.25 gbp/litre for the basic euro 95.

But then again we heave cheaper diesel compared to you guys here.

Had to use the car for business today. A joyous 17mpg on my drive.

How I miss the fuel card I had when I bought it.

The same guy that predicted $120 a barrel by this time a few years back has now predicted $200 a barrel within the next 2 years. The way it;s been rising lately I reckon we could see this within a year. Here comes £1.50 a litre.

Greenpeace must be laughing at us at the moment.
