well I would guess the display has a single connector, I would also guess that given the time of the year its possible it has become damp. A few of the connectors in my xantia have done this in the past.
If you can find out roughly where they are and heat the area gently (i.e hairdryer) so as not to damage anything in the process! You can sometimes see if damp is the issue.
If not I would say its a loose connection of said connector... downside of course is that I would imagine the connector is buried deeep deeep down inside that french dashboard
