That doesn't seem to be the case this season, certainly as far as Chelsea are concerned.

cant say for Chelsea's results - but Utd vs - Fulham, and AV away and Newcastle at home...including the 9 points still to play for Utd, would give more points than any team have ever amassed in one season in the EPL

Although you could also say that the two losses to Liverpool (who we had the double over last season for example) are balanced by better results elsewhere (without considering the draw at SB and the loss at the Emirates)

I still think the timing of certain matches (ie just after Int breaks or Europe games) can definitely be a hindrance - all top clubs and players will be "up" for the big games - its the ones your team usually win (away) and the timing of these that make a huge difference

Well Chelsea only picked up 4 points from the other 3 this season, add 14 to our total and we would've won the league ages ago, so you could just say your point about taking points from the top 4 is wrong this season
