Phanteks d30-120 question and pwm fan hub

Keep in mind fan amp rating is running load, not start-up load.

Motors draw 3-4 times more starting up.

Only company I know of publishing running and start up is Nidec.
Their specs for Gentle Typhoon 2150rpm are 123mA running and 530mA start up. That's more than 4 times more at start up. This means 4 running fans rated up to 1.23A each draw up to 4.92A starting up! Sure, it's only a second or less, but that's a huge load on mobo fan header.

Ever notice that peeps saying they burned out a fan header almost always say they noticed it when starting up system? ;)

guys when i try and set my fans to 35% percent they all stop and make a weird noise like that setting is to low for the fans? i have to set them manual and to 50 percent? any help would be appreciated

I'm assuming you have Phanteks T30-120 fans with 3 speed range settings, so what speed setting are you using?

Hybrid mode (up to 1200rpm with a fan stop below 50% PWM)
Performance mode (up to 2000rpm, recommended for general use)
Advanced mode (up to 3000rpm for maximum performance)
The default setting is Performance mode.
