PHANTEKS EVOLV X & P600S

Has anyone done a custom loop in the P600s?

I love the case and am seriously considering pulling the trigger on the custom loop but am worried with it being so small as I've never done one before.
My build is earlier in the thread. I was a first time custom loop as well, found it easy to build in.

Using a Black Ice 360GTS up front and a XSPC 360 TX on top. Excuse the bad photography

@Nutella33 Thanks mate that's awesome! Can I ask what sort of space there was for mounting radiators as I was thinking of going 420 in the front and a 280 up top if there's enough? And how did you mount the pump/res combo?

280 up top will be fine. I wouldn't go over 35mm depth on your radiator but that's just me.
Front and 420 is doable but I'd be cautious of the width, a black ice (which are wider than normal) I think would block the drain port a bit but others might not. You can get the measurements off the manual online.

My combo came with a bracket for horizontal fitting that I used to hold it vertically, There are mounting points for combos behind where my res is on that photo that you can use. The manual shows them.

There is also a separate pump mounting point below the shroud if you want to have a separate pump/Res set up.

I think it's a well provisioned case for water cooling.

Mines arrived today (Evolv X - Anthracite) excellent service as normal from OCUK.

Looking forward to starting the build, ill get my build log started shortly.

I'm looking for some advice. I've decided it's finally time to upgrade from my trusty Cooler Master HAF 932 as my PC is now very visible in my living room and I've convinced my wife she wants me to buy something more aesthetically pleasing.

The airflow on the 932 is superb and keeps my 1080 Ti nice and cool so I'm looking for something that can match or at least come close to that performance for around £100-£120. The P600S looks to fit the bill with highly rated performance with the panels off but the the option of silent running when in standard usage. What has complicated the matter slightly is the availability of B-grade Evolv X cases right here for around the same price. I don't mind some aesthetic defects as long as they aren't glaring and don't affect functionality. Is performance better than the P600S? I use an H115i for my CPU so would have whatever fans come as default and that set as a roof mounted exhaust.

Also, does vertically mounting the GPU help improve temps?

Can't give you a comparison between the Evolv X and the P600s. In terms of GPU orientation though, vertical mounting is generally worse for thermals as this puts the fans right up against a solid side panel with no room to breathe. Obviously if you have a mesh side panel, or are water cooling, it shouldn't be an issue. Gamers Nexus case reviews usually tell you how bad an idea it is to vertically mount air-cooled graphics cards, though some manufacturers are now moving the mount back nearer the motherboard so as to give better thermals.

Edit: Added a video that explains it better than I did :o

Funnily enough I just watched a review by them stating that. I'm torn though, the Cooler Master H500 is by no means as good a looking case as the P600s but it seems to have some of the best temperatures of cases in the £100 price range with particularly strong GPU cooling.

I hear you. I have a Silverstone FT02 and the cooling is exceptional, but it's far too big and clunky for a living room PC.

That's just it. Normally performance isiall important for me, hence I sat with the HAF 932 for so long. The H500's out of the running, it doesn't support a 280mm radiator in the roof. The H500P Mesh does but that's another £50 over the basic model or £40 over the P600S. The biggest downside is that it's seemingly only available in white which does not match my components and quite frankly looks ugly for this particular case in my opinion.
