Phanteks EX cases

we have unfortunately been given notice of a slight launch delay.

There will be an official worldwide product announcement with a pre order period in the upcoming month. I shall be looking at ways to provide pre order customers some additional value.

Sorry I am being vague but that is all I can disclose currently.

Oh great. I was hoping it would be released by now :(

Is the Ex6 Max still coming out at least?

that is still on schedule yes. no delays to report on that one.

Phanteks is putting EX5 out first officially then EX6 will launch after.
No firm dates on that yet though yet. sorry.

First case launch I've ever really followed in my entire two decades of PC building and I'm disappointed ha ha

Oh well hopefully when it comes out I'll be able to buy one

Hi Gang

Today we announce pre order availability of the new EX5 case from Phanteks

The Phanteks EX5 is a new chassis designed with a compartmentalized structure. This layout organises key components into dedicated chambers, ensuring each receives a direct flow of fresh air. The EX5 will come in multiple variants, including options with integrated AIO liquid coolers and built-in LCD displays.

The EX5 moves away from the boxy, ‘fish tank’ aesthetic and presents a bold, creative way to showcase a PC build. The unique layout optimizes cooling efficiency by directing fresh air precisely where it’s needed and expelling heat more effectively.
This effective airflow design reduces reliance on excessive fan setups, allowing builders to achieve excellent thermals with fewer fans.
It’s built for high-performance hardware, easily accommodating large GPUs and a dedicated 360mm radiator. The strategically placed fan behind the mainboard effectively cools the VRM and RAM, while also directing heat from the GPU away from key components to maintain optimal temperatures.

The EX combines generous interior space with intuitive cable management for a clean, effortless setup. To complete the sophisticated aesthetic, vibrant ARGB lighting wraps around the chassis for a clean, modern finish. Synchronized via the Nexlinq app or your mainboard, the EX-series offers a polished, efficient build that stays as cool as it looks

Looks cool.... I'll pass that tho.
If they pull out a cheaper version, I might consider it in the future for the media PC only because looks cool and the PC doesn't get to be run at full power with corresponding temperatures.
My main rig will continue to be hosted in 'ol good reliable Corsair 6500D.
Cudos

Having seen the mesh, I'm not surprised. It's very dense and restrictive. Also theres not a lot of clearance between the mesh and the fans/rad/GPU, so the airflow would be severely disrupted too
Exactly. Could’ve opted for a much less restrictive mesh and maybe added an optional filter?
I personally prefer spend 5 minutes with the compressed air every few weeks than a noisy or warmer system.

According to Jay, the gpu is sort of recessed inside the shroud so half the gpu fans are pulling air from inside the motherboard area, they're not fully inline with the mesh. He talks about it at the 21 min mark. Plus with axial fans on a gpu the air is getting blasted against the glass on the shroud instead of being vented upwards.

I wonder how many people will buy these?
The more I see and think about the case the more I dislike it.
I really like the look of these - almost hit pre-order yesterday, but I don't think I can fit my GPU and a 10GB NIC in that chamber so going to wait for some build threads to get a better look before committing.

Edit: Also not clear how the motherboard VRM gets air to me
