phanteks fans

Ha! Screw you Phanteks mammothmabob! I reseated it perfectly and also put a tiny tiny blob of TIM in each corner of the CPU.
My temperatures are lower by about 5c overall AND the hottest to coolest core has gone from a 8-9c gap to 3-4c :)

All in all a great cooler, but I sure don't understand it not coming with PWM fans. Would have gladly used their fans if they were PWM. :(

Update:
Emailed Phanteks support email address and had reply in 10 minutes. Took over a week to receive adapter but was do to somehow ending up in USA and being searched before USPS forwarded to me. Great customer support!

I didn't want to make a new thread for this, so fingers crossed.

Do the phanteks fans come with the rubber strips you put on the cooler? I'm looking to get a third fan for mine and would be needing another pair because I goofed.

I need 3 sets myself. Have 3 fans to go on as have been using TY-140 fans while waiting for PWM adapter. Got it now, but haven't changed fans.

I had a little problem getting in touch with Phanteks support using their form. No reply for 2 weeks. Then I emailed direct and had reply in less then an hour. The envelope from them was hand written... like getting a letter from a friend. Even return address was hand written.

I've got a spare TY-140 that has never been used. I read your post about the cable tie idea and I think I follow, is there any chance you could go into it a bit more or post a picture?

The locking part of the tie serves as the loop, right? have you used another locking mechanism on the other side, so one either side of the lip?

Not a great pic but think you can see how it works. Tighten as necessary and clip off excess. Mount is backwards in hole to TY-140 on cooler. Next pic shows how it looks in case. You can't see the loop for the wire mounting clip iin intalled pic.

Hope that helps.

You can kinda see the duct over top fan. Had to punch holes for spring clips. Duct runs to top vent.

3 reasons for top exhaust; 1) back vent is 120mm, 2) my memory is too tall for fan to set on and clear side cover, and 3) duct pushes all CPU hot air right out the top.

Below is a side view of R2 with caster base I made.

Still need to do a bit more tidying up.

Success. 2 working days to reply isn't bad and I just need to give them a copy of my invoice and they'll send me replacements strips.

It arrived at 17:36 I was counting that as two working days. It's two days of work done... or at least that's how I was looking at it. Either way, I'm getting my magical rubber strips! I predict an overclock that will be spoken of for years to come!

TX 650 v2 and TX 750 v2 both are not as quiet as I would like. Loudest component in mine and wife's Asus HD6850 1GB DirectCU V2 isn't any louder then her TX 750 v2. Not fan noise as much as air noise.

I thought it was Monday afternoon that you emailed them.
