Get the anniversary edition, clock the hell out of it, then enjoy till you got the cash for an I7! I did that myself and I had no problems playing battlefield etc on high!
 
Theres not really any need for an i7, the OP will not notice any real performance increase, especially after chugging along with a dual core for so long. An i5 is more than enough.
