I fancy an electric shaver for my Birthday and am looking at a Philips one, has anyone tried one of their coolskin ones were you put the Nivea lotion?

I'm unsure as to get one of these or just a normal one.

I've got a coolskin razor and it's great for using in the shower :)

Fully water-proof and spunks the cream on your face on demand :p Great for a quick shave before work but imo nothing beats a good wet shave :)

Mines the HQ7762. Got it at Christmas reduced from £120 to £60 - probably cheaper now :o

I only want one for a quick shave in the mornings before work because I can never be bothered to get up early enough for a wet shave

Lol...takes what 2 mins for a quick wet shave

Do it in the shower if you wish to save time....Promise you electric shavers are not worth it imo.

I've a philishave one, not a cool skin one though, cost about 140. I use it daily and I find it gives a close shave (nearly as good as a blade), but only if your stubble grows a reasonable length in the day, otherwise I think the hairs are too short to get a really close shave with it.

Brilliant for when you're in a rush though.

I know but when your laying in bed, 2 mins is a long time :p Every second counts, I don't have very much time between getting up and leaving.

Isnt braun the ones to get if you are going to go leccy?

Foil cover on the Brauns don't last that long, Philips lasts years. Not the best shave though. I use a hair trimmer on 0, gives me a short stubble and without any neck rash. Disposable razors are too expensive

Yer, I've got a Philishave one that squirts your face with creamy whiteness. Its a good electric shaver and shaves reasonably close. I payed around ~£80 for it at xmas and it's been fine.

Only downside is the Nivea cream refills are quite expensive.

don't waste your time on an electric shaver. They just don't shave close enough.

I recently invested in an old fashioned double edged safety razor. Far far cheaper than mach 3 on blades and much closer shave if done correctly. Granted not as fast as a mach 3 (we are only talking 2 mins slower perhaps if that) but replacement blades are so so cheap!

Here is a thread about it

Save your cash...Mach3 & Gel..

No better shave :p

Agreed! I've had a braun flex head thing cost about £130, A philips triple cutter thing cost about £200 and a remington triple foil super expensive and NONE compare to a mach3 and a bit of gel. I've found all the electrics to be slow and none give a good shave.

Been using Braun for about 32 years, tried the competition and always went back.
Those 3 headed Phillishaves are really useless.

Have braun improved the foil bit? I remebered brothers braun only lasting a few years, the foil was wearing down or split, too costly to replace. Dads Philips is over at least 25 years old and still working fine and still cuts.
