Here is a question. when traveling abroad for holiday, do you bring all your lenses/kit with you or just slap on a walkabout lens and thats it?

Spent 3 weeks in France recently, took 5D2 and 7D and 6 lenses. Space and weight wasn't an issue as we were driving.
South Africa safari last year was a weight issue but wore back pack for bodies and lenses and also a Domke vest which carried everything else. I looked a right nerd and felt as though I was under 3X mavity but it got me through SAA check-in.
I'm having sleepless nights about next years trip to the Galapagos.
I'm sure the weight issues are minor compared to the images you got / will get when you go on your trips though.

Shot my first wedding this weekend as a "photographer" rather than a guest with a good camera and loved it! Learned so much just shooting on the day, already know where I feel I can improve and gained a lot more confidence just from one days shooting. Really want to do more!
Love the idea of this thread too![]()

Is it wrong I'm seriously considering buying a shootsac?![]()
Did you get a buzz from it?
You should post some shots up! Congrats on the wedding, was it a paid job?

Yeah it's an import job and a lot of dosh but it looks blooming perfect
Hmm...
Cheers Derek, I hope so
However, some airlines can get right snotty about cabin luggage weight and I'm certainly not putting any gear in the hold.
It appears to be totally arbitrary, depends if the person checking you in had a good nights sleep.
