Photography Topic thread...

yea im not but the guys on TP more or less threated me http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=350786

I removed the pics only in that thread but still people stated slagging me off to the point someone even called me names and all that. Terrible forum

doubt i will be using that forum much anymore

I wouldn't bother using anymore either dude.

I haven't used TP for ages. Its full of knobs who think they are 'The Elite' and it gets on my man boobs.

Regarding sports photography, my mate took some pics at Wimbledon this year and even though they were on his flickr, making no money, and un available for people to obtain (Not available for commercial licensing), he still got made to take them down or face court action.

Also, at college three years ago i wanted to get some pics of the college football team for one of my projects (college related website module). Both teams agreed it was fine but the ref wouldn't allow it - apparently even down to grass roots football the image rights are held by the English FA and as such i needed written permission from them first..
I never managed to get this permission.

Events are so paranoid about pics now, its a joke.

Did you make a post about it beforehand?

na i asked if i am allowed to take my DSLR to the emirates. i then made that thead, posted some pics and someone mentioned it may be taken down so i read the sicky and removed it from that thread only but kept it on flickr. Then as you can see from some idiots there, hey began slagging me off calling me names and stuff. some of those remarks have been deleted though but they was there for sure. the guy who closed it even said i was disrespectful to everyone there:rolleyes: dispite taking down those pics a few minutes after it was posted.

i "hide" them on flickr as some in TP "threatend" to expose and tell the people who own the rights for any pics taken at footy games.

a load of farce man.

To be fair you asked advice then completely ignored it. It doesn't take a lot of reading in the sports forum on TP to see what the situation is with regards to photography at football league matches. You're not the first and defo won't be the last! :D

Is there something about photographing football games that's wrong? Just curious, only done kids football for a family game, so totally clueless in that area.

incidentally when i last looked at the the show us your photos thread on here those photos were still showing, might be worth taking them down

prem league falls under dataco who i believe have all games locked down, i.e. sharing photos/video of the games in public is a no no.

One 580exii RIP at last night wedding reception....didn't notice at the beginning coz the pre flash was going off but the pictures looked wrong...thought it might be the settings but swapped with my other 580 around and turns out it was a dead flash.

Pre flash but no main flash. Lucky I put my 550ex in the car this time, normally I leave the 550ex at home!
