Photography Topic thread...

Yup you can work with that with some creative sharpening. Alternatively just go Black and white, it may bring a different perspective to the photo, sharp or not!

Speaking of black and white, doing it in Lightroom is the best way to do it and I found this video guide to be very insightful, learnt a new trick with the dropper mouse wheel adjuster too.

6 months isn't really old :p

You can't cruise through images in batch processing them in nice BW/toned colour in Photoshop though. Sure if it's 1 or 2 images but a session's worth of images would just take far too long to power through and get great results out of.

This is why Lightroom wins hands down. I only open Photoshop when I want to resize and also to clone/layer mask errors within the frame.

That makes no sense, as said Canon have apparently invited them it isn't Digital Rev's choice.

It does as digitelrev are camera specialists. Why would canon invite a company that focuses mainly on camera's if they are going to just announce a new printer? Now that personaly doesnt make sense.

Lets wait and see. i think some folks(not saying you) do not want canon to ever announce a 5dmk3 for some strange reason :(

Its like they dont want canon to come out with new gear that would make their 5dmk2 old or something :(

Jonny...what the hell are you going on about? :-/

Everyone wants the to 5D3 come out, also don't forget I am a massive 5D2 fanboy that has sex with his most nights?

Infact, I can't think of a single time I've seen on any forum with anyone saying what would fall in line with what you posted? Can you share some examples please?

i never said thats how u feel. this is just my opinion. tahts the vibe i get on most places. maybe not in here but in other forums.

what gives me that impressions are comments like "dont geta 5dmk3, the 5dmk2 does everything u need", "5dmk2 AF is sensational and no need to upgrade it" "sepetember and novemembers announcements are about a printer" "dont expect 5dmk3 for another 1 or 2 years" etc etc. Its as if some dont want a 5dmk3 to come out :(

Not saying you man

I didn't think you were directing it at me?

What I was saying is that I browse many photography forums and I can't say I've seen one post agree with what you are saying?

And what I have read about a printer is people just speculating.

Either way it doesn't matter!

Combining the two it could be possible that they announce the 5dm3 and it in fact has a built in printer (aka polaroid camera!). Instant results :p

*p.s. I'm not serious*

Well it's only 3 days till we find out. It's another supposed attendee to the event who said that the media relates to printers... All rumours though :D

I print the odd photo or two, but mainly I use online services. They generally have some offer on that helps, I just ordered 559 6x4 shots for under £25 delivered.

What do you do with 6x4s? Just curious as, having viewed the shots on a huge monitor or looked at the negatives on a lightbox with a loupe, a 6x4 just seems so small and can't show the detail of an image to me. Like to stick with 8x6 as a minimum myself.
