if You look at my post again I say I already have 8gb and then there is 8gb on the shopping list

Re the i7, of course it will be better. It’s should be at nearly twice the price!

Much better board in every way and it's replacement !

Ryzen does come with it, and recommend the ryzen 2600x for its extra speed !

But intel would be better

You'll also have to manually overclock that Samsung d-die from 2400hz to 3000/3200hz
Thanks for the mobo recommendation

Would not bother over locking the memory, not into overclocking. Why do you say I would have to overclock?

Intel may be better, however bang for buck which intel would be better than the AMD.

Don’t get me wrong, money no object intel all the way (I have always bought intel) however some on here have recently made me aware of the ryzden and it’s value over intel.

Probably the closest intel would be the i5 8600k which is £50 more but is it better?

I see, I am very much an AMD newbie

You spec is also interesting. Especially the Radeon RX 5700, I was under the impression remixer pro like cuda cores

The case looks nice and it’s micro atx. Would that mean a cheaper mobo

What’s the difference between B450 and B350? I should look this up

So intel quite a bit more

Appreciate your thoughts

However it’s easy to get carried away and get better components which all add up :)

Also the Gigabyte MOBO is out of stock.

Whats the alternative?
Azrock B450 Gaming ITX £120
Gigabyte AB350N Gaming ITX £105
Azrock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming ITX £105

Bit confused by all of that

Are you saying your choice would be the Asus Strix, if so that's out of my budget

So would I just be better finding the Gigabyte somewhere else?

Just want to add the MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC ITX to get your view on that as its about the same as the Azrock

I very much appreciate your help :)

Indeed however there are other places to buy. The Gigabyte is also available elsewhere

so given the choice, MSI, Gigabyte or Azrock?

Thanks for the help.

I currently have an old X99 Gigabyte board and have always hated the BIOS

I am favoring the Asrock due to have USB 3.1 gen 2 and optical out for sound. Bit mean of them not to include the antennas. Does it cause a problem having the m.2 port on the back of the mobo? ASrock and MSI seem to do this whereas Gigabyte its next to the PCI slot

I am now also considering the Ryzen 7 2700. On paper it may well be better suited to Video Editing compared to the 2600x which is better for gaming.

Also the TDP is 30w lower which may better suit a mini ITX environment
