Photoshop Request (Sensitive Subject)

Hi guys, got a sensitive request to ask anyone that's half decent with photoshop. I can tinker around in photoshop but don't feel I would no where be able do do justice to the task that has been asked of me.

Last weekend was the 20 year anniversary of the death of my brother in law and tragically also the 1 year anniversary of the death of his brother.
I've been asked by their mother if I could in anyway enhance a couple photographs so that she can have a new headstone with the pictures in cameo reliefs made as they share the same plot.

Any help would be very gratefully appreciated.

I would ask a mod to move this to the Photography & Video section, where you'll get people who have more of an expertise with Photoshop.

You should try posting this on Reddit, I think you would get a better response there. The community is good at doing nice things like this for people

Yeh I'm sure someone would, but I see things like this on reddit all the time and I was just thinking he might get more success on there since they have a much larger community

about as sharp and clean as I can probably make it. Hope it helps.

True, if there was a scan of the original one that would be better and easier to edit

Get your eyes tested lad...the enhanced version that Valkia has done is much much better than the original.

First thing I would do is give the photo a gentle wipe with a dry, lint-free cloth. Then clean your scanner, and scan at the highest DPI you can get. Finally, save in PNG format.

Just a quick go.
There is no point in over sharpening as there is so much dust but i got rid of most of it.

Indeed i had to clone out most of the dust but did it pretty ok
