physx card

albatron geforce 7900gt, 2.1ghz duel core, 2 gig of corsair ram 500*** psu physics card, sound blaster extrema and my case is the cruiser silver aspire tower

Take what pottsey says with a grain of salt, he's a Aegia employee imo.
At the moment at full rrp physics cards aren't worth buying, but at £20 certainly worth trying it out.

Driver/framerates seem to be getting better with physics card in games, however I would leave it a couple of gens on the card for improvements, and really want 80% of quality games to support and improve features/gameplay/framerate over non physics card system.

For the sake of neatness could you please consider using the edit button for your posts like Steedie suggested, it means that there aren't lots of needless posts cluttering up a thread when one or two would have done equally well :)

The "Edit" button appears at the bottom of every single post you make, in between the "Trust" and "Quote" buttons.

pwnd.

BaDBoY16, my opinion is to sell the card. All its really going to do over the next months is sit in your comp and depreciate in value. You could probably get >£100 for it as has already been said. I don't really see it getting more than £100 use over that time anyway.

Guess it depends how much the money is worth to you.

Come on stop it with this rubbish. I have proven time and time again I don’t work fro Ageia. That’s like me saying you work for ATI so take everything you say with a grain of salt as you ant to make Ageia look bad.

Call me a fan boy if you want but don’t say I work for Ageia and write my comments off. Everything I have said has been true the only people lying are the ones sayings it always useless or always slowers down your PC. Its not like I am going around saying everyone one should get one all the time.

They are not on fast cycles like 3Dcards and I don’t see another one coming out anytime this or next year. If it takes off then we should see a new card in a few years.

nah i believe you a lot of people have slated it but i reckon in months to come they will get into a league of there own, i mean without a physics card look at cell factor its rubbish but with one no other game could beat it unless it has a physics card ill install it and keep it and im sure games to come will benifit from it being there.

For £20, keep it, or sell it and buy a second GFX card to the one you have and SLI (that's if you've got that option).

I think you'd see a bigger difference, and not just to a handful of selected games.

my single gfx card is powerfull enough at the moment capable of runnig all the games out there but it is a option but i fink a lot of games would benifit from the phyics card in say 4-5 months.

Personally I would sell it, as you could put that cash into something you use everyday, so as another hard drive (if you're running out of space) or into another graphics card, more memory, new display etc.

You can then buy another physics card if it takes off fully, and at least if it fails you've got rid of it and made a profit before it's worthless. ie like VGA cards are now.

Maybe, and maybe not, but its certain two GFX cards will rock.

Take a chance then, it sounds like you've made up your mind anyway, even if your wrong, it cost you £20 to find out, most people it cost them £200.

I doubt this card would ever make a computer slower, its just how much gain, and how many times that gain is had.

nice point its 50 50 really, if they take off and a lot of games adopt it ive got one, but if they fall then like you said its to late. but for 20 pound it carnt harm me, i could always get a duel graphics card do they really make a difference ?

I think its more doomed to fail, as it really hasn't won over public opinion, in the end, its them who buy, and too much negativity surrounds this card (rightly or wrongly) for it to survive IMO.

only tryin to make a beast of a machine. What good sli graphics card would u recommend ?

What motherboard do you have? Budget? Existing power supply? Existing m monitor? What games do you play?

Yeah but a physics card isn't a prerequisite for "a beast of a machine". Physics are fine in games without ppu's imho.

I admit I haven't witnessed the diffference first hand, but I haven't yet played a game and thought "damn these physics are terrible I should really go out and get a PPU".
