I really like the lens, it's the same quality (picture and build wise) as the tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 which I've also got and taken travelling where its seen plenty of bangs and bumps without issue.

For portraits I've moved mainly to primes but I still like the 17-28 for those ultra wide images.

Thanks @GSXRMovistar I've got the 50/85mm f1.8's and the 28-60 kit lens for travelling on my A7C and will add a 35mm at some point but I'm really after a wide at the moment, the Tamron and the Sony 20mm f1.8 are my two front runners and are pretty much the same price on grey import.
