[PIC_THREAD] People, Portraits, Street

Just to keep the thread alive, below was taken at the BCM in Birmingham, this lady was sewing (not posed) in a very dark house with the only lighting a small window and a couple of candles. Very high ISO but surprised how well the image turned out with the available lighting (well lack of lighting).

Only just ventured into this part of the forum (having been a member for 20 years now :p) as I'm getting more into photography. Some of these pics are fantastic, once I take something worth sharing I'll post some of my own. Would be really good to see the camera settings when pics are posted e.g. ISO, aperture, focal length, shutter speed and maybe even camera/lens - just a thought!

Thanks! :D The 105mm gives a real depth to the shot - love it.

I'm in aperture priority at the moment and playing with ISO but haven't ventured into shutter speed yet, I let the camera do that for me. There's so many shutter speeds to choose from I've not yet got my head around what's needed and when!

Ok here's one I took of my daugher in Cornwall this summer. I had to level the horizon which cropped the shot and lost some of the reflection annoyingly but otherwise I'm quite happy with it.

Shot through the coffee shop window. The girl wasnt a professional model so it took me ages to get her to do the expression. Lots of running into the coffeee shop and out. Turned out rather well.
