Pick a car from this list

I know what you mean about carpet, I've got a thing about carpeted door bins too, I like the door card/storage design of the E38 the best in this respect, it's got more room in the doors than the E39 and more carpet :)

My E39 has carpet. It's great.

Even the E60 doesn't. Not properly. The E90 is just bare plastic. People think I'm stupid for caring but in my car I can get in, chuck my phone in the doorbin and... it goes thunk and is safe from damage or scratches. Chuck anything in the door bin of an E90 and it makes a horrible noise as it impacts the stupid cheap plastic.

Every time I read your critical comments about E90's and the like I think "bugger - I've never noticed that". 30 seconds ago I thought "bugger, throwing the mobile into the door bin does make a thunk".

A while back I read about the slight vibration at idle on the 6cyl derv and thought again "bugger, I've never noticed that".

Is there any chance you could just STFU so I can once again be happy with my car? :p

Not following this, the F10 and the F01 are in every conceivable way better cars than the E39 and E38 respectively. The E38 especially so.

Yep, they certainly are ...but I just have a soft spot for the E39 and E38, there is something about them. It's not really a logical and quantifiable thing, I just love them. Although I probably wouldn't buy another one (I would an E38 since I haven't had one yet), what I would buy again is a Jaguar XJ tough.

I posted the exact same thing on a TV review site last week. STOP TALKING ABOUT MY TELLY AND ITS FAULTS!!!

Should never have sold you're Jag, that looked a belter.

I take criticism of anything I own very personally.

Lucky you lot have nothing bad to say about Morphy Richards cos otherwise there'd be trouble.

For the same reason why Tetley don't make tea bags for anyone else.

It's just wrong.

Perhaps but most of the 3 Series Cabriolets I see on the motorway are diesels, in fact I saw quite a few 330d cabs on the drive home today. There will be a demand for 335ds.

In hindsight I agree with you, it was perfect really, the 540i is far from perfect ...the one i have anyway. I could buy a supercharged one for only a few grand more than I sold it for now though.

I must admit i couldnt see the point of selling a lovely wafter, for another older wafter that needed work, but i suppose you got to try these things.

If there was, this demand would be satisfied.

They've never offered the 335d in Cabriolet form so how could they possibly know? I bet there are people who fit into the following bracket:

1) Want the Cabriolet.
2) Want a top spec high performance model.
3) Want 335i performance without the fuel economy, and are prepared to live with a diesel in order to achieve this. (Although as you pointed out the 330i is the best of both worlds)

Of all those people who bought the 330d cab, I reckon quite a few would have splashed out extra for the 335d.
