Pick one game you wish they did an updated version of.

Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3

Metal Gear Solid 1,2 and 3

The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time

I know there is a 3d remake version of OOT but its on 3DS. Same with MGS1 for GC but even those graphics haven't aged well.

Borderlands, its not that old but i loved the game until the ending crushed my soul (should prob try some of the dlc but the ending put me off)

Hard to imagine there could be a better candidate for a remake than Carmageddon
There's a lot of old games that on first thought seem like they'd be improved by an update, but Carmageddon 4 would be fabulous.... better physics, better graphics, better sound, huge multiplayer carnage-fests.... not to mention the Daily Mail reaction :D

I friend of mine introduced me Carmageddon and it was a really additive game, did you ever play the 'Splat Pack' expansion? It allowed you to run over people i.e your bot red pixels instead of green pixels lol.
I liked the squeal as well, it was one of the first games I bought for my PC once I got 3DFX Voodoo 1 expansion card.

They just don't make games like this any more these days there all based on realism/reality rather then fun. Hell it's hard to find an FPS these days that allows you to have more then 2 guns at any one point or gives one ultra weapon that wipes out the screen a la BFG 9000 hell you don't even have to worry about getting shot as crouching behind a rock for a few seconds apparently is the miracle cure for 17 bullet wounds to the chest mankind has been waiting for. :(

Was going to agree on carmageddon but then i remembered something else: Twisted Metal 2. Not its poor pc version but the console one. Updated to todays standards and properly ported onto the PC (and yes i am aware ps3 is getting one end of the year). Add steam integration and you get countless hours of fun.

Yes I did, I bought the "Max Pack" with included Carma, Splat Pack, and some limited edition goodies like key ring and mousemat.

As for wanting games like Doom, try the Serious Sam HD series, that has some proper weaponry and huges waves of enemies.

I'd agree with Dungeon Master, but in fact I'll go with Tony Crowther's Captive. Same game principle but in a SciFi Setting and much better (at least for me) with about 10 000 levels.
