Hi all, I was hoping to have my Canon DSLR back so I could some decent pics but that's a bust so here's the obligatory ipotato pic until then.

It's a Daytona Avant with 84K miles, sunroof, black wheels, white interior and mighty thirst for V-Power :D

Anyway, my current plans are typical "me" really!

This month (already booked) -

Visit MRC tomorrow for Health check
Stage 2 mapped at MRC inc filters & 2nd Cat delete (only if healthy) - 730+hp & ft/lbs
Swap the Tyres to GY-F1AS2
Swap the front brakes to AP Racing Discs, DS2500 Pads and the VW Phaeton backplate
Swap the rear pads to DS2500
Swap the brake fluid to ATE Super Blue or what ever it's called nowadays
Update MMI and Nav disc (still 2008 on both)

Next Month (none set in stone) -

Fix any Health issues found at MRC (no time off work to do it earlier)
H&R Roll bars
Exhaust mod (backbox bypass like my C5)
Bigger intercoolers (for cooling rather than extra power)
Charity Trackday

Future -

Detailing (previous owner used lots of AutoWashers I think)
Enjoy the crap out of it
No idea on mods, if any!

The brake bits have already started arriving -

and I think the Pads might "just" be big enough

Dav4 - 580hp & 480ft/lbs out the factory.

My older C5 RS6 after mapping was 500hp & 600ft/lbs and it "felt" faster even though it's actually slower than my new one due to the higher torque it had. Everyone with the MRC map raves about it making the car feel pretty rapid.

On a dragstrip it should do 0-150mph in about 15 seconds (a few vids on youtube) and is limited to 212mph.

^JP^ - It the Asda "On Your Marks" day, the same one that I did last year. I'm in with the GT40's this time  I may spend more time in theirs than mine (if I can fit :D)

SS-89 - Compared to my C5 RS6 it's pocket money, well apart from the brakes and if you avoid Audi and their ridiculous hourly rates!

A major service is £750 from a specialist (£550 minor), the engine and gearbox are virtually bullet-proof along with the suspension (both massive C5 RS6 issues) but brakes are a tadge over £1200 per axle for discs & pads

Mine has an extremely good warranty and I think you'd be a bit silly to buy something like this without one, just in case!

I'm at MRC now and should be done by 4ish so I'll update this thread then.

Adz - I always loved that picture!

Blackhawk - I thought I'd got any with it :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :D

Got 740hp and 740ft/lbs and a clean bill of health and an unclean pair of pants! :D

Yeap, secondary cats are gone. I gotta pick up all my video/timing gear from Stoke the weekend before. The torque curve is less "vertical" from 2500-3000rpm than my old RS6 and more gentle so instead of one almighty shove you get a constant surge which keeps pushing harder and harder until it levels out at around 5000rpm and slowly dies off. The power also levels out at that rpm roughly so it would need better turbos for more top end power :D

I took out a family of 4 comfortably at the last Asda day and they loved it which isn't something many of the cars there could do (a bit squeezed in to most cars) so I'm hoping to do the same again this year.

I'll be doing the next PowerStation RR day as I use them as my "default" Dyno, having used them dozens of times over the years. I reckon it'll show the MRC figures are probably a little high by 20-30hp judging by my old RS6 figures at powerstation.

The MRC map is torque limited in 1st so it gets a little bogged down but it's still sub 4 seconds (MRC's own car is 3.1sec on the VBox).

It's also still a "normal" torque converter automatic gearbox rather than a DSG etc which also takes a tadge off but to be fair 0-60 tests in a 2ton+ car isn't the best.

skaif - Sadly it needs more than just a remap to make my figures as the Stage 2 requires a few more bits to top of the mapping. Price wise, including the re-map, it works about just under £2k with a gearbox re-map, secondary Cats removed, air filters & labour for those extra bits.

Just a remap gets you high 600's hp and mid 900's NM, still plenty mind.

SlickRick - 390mm but I may go to 420mm is the AP's can't cope but I hope I don't have to, it gets very pricey!

CaptinRave - You missed the additional Gearbox re-map which was £500 and gives you a 7K limit, improved "safe" torque limits etc.

It also gave me a measured 3mpg better economy too, even with the extra hooning I did on the way home so I'm now upto 22mpg on a motorway which isn't bad considering

Here's the Dyno graph -

audi58.jpg

RyanF- Enough time to get in my last rites before the horrible crash that follows :D

Bensons - Like the 0-60mph mentioned earlier, a drag-strip isn't the best place to see these as they are "relatively" poor off the line in comparison to GTR's etc due to limited 1st gear torque, slush box , no L/C, very grippy surface bogs down the engine etc but it should still do around 11-11.5secs at 130+ based on others than have done it.

Where it's scary is from 100 where the acceleration barely slows down as per the videos above.

There's a few over 900hp and at least 1 with over 1000hp in Poland (Sportmile) but the small engine bay restricts extracting much more power. There is literally no space already, so trying to add bigger rads, intercooler, turbos etc is extremely difficult.

Lightening would be a good start but again the car is such a massive lump (2.25 tons with a driver) that even with a diet it would still be very heavy.

I forgot all about this thread, I'll keep it updated a bit more often!

Anyway, I saw MRC have posted that they'd mapped the UK's first 1000hp+ RS6 (well 940ps on 98Ron and 1024ps on Race Fuel) and it sparked my enthusiasm again so, I've been buying bits for my Christmas present to the RS6 -

An 850hp conversion sometime in early December, which should be fun in winter.

It's a 2nd-hand C6 RS6 set so £5k off a low mileage car thats breaking, new would be £12k+ from Audi!

Discs are a tadge over £2200 each new but there's a company in Germany which sell replacement rotors (you reuse the metal bell) for £3500 for all 4 discs.

Pads are *normal* price at <£300 for a set.

I'd looked at other makes (Movit etc) but using an Audi set makes much more sense (plug & Play etc).

Howard - the gearbox limit is around 850hp/1100nm but the rest cope well to 1000hp but most cars hit around 920-950hp at max on those turbos.

Also, 850hp is my starting point  while I bed things in, see what the weak points are etc I'm aiming for an achievable 900-920hp sometime in Spring.

Ah, slight snag - The company doing the uprated gearbox says they can't guarantee that it'll take any less than 8 weeks to complete upgrade/shipping etc, which puts it past Xmas!

So, as I'm very busy Jan/Feb, I've decided to wait until March before starting. This'll give me a bit more saving time too but it's an annoyance to have 95% of the parts sitting here staring at me :(

As a bonus my Ceramics should arrive mid Nov so I can at least I can get them fitted.
