So I finally went for the 2.0T with 210 BHP (thanks for the advice everyone)

Spec is not bad for a small car:
Leather
Xenon’s
Lumbar support
Panoramic roof
Few other small things like CD changer, 18" alloys.....

Overall I am very impressed with it, the gearbox is fantastic, the engine note is not bad at all and it’s quite quick, I think it feels a lot quicker than it really is. Handling is not bad at all.

The only real down side is that the sunroof does not open; the breaks are not that good and the steering feels a little too light.

Considering it’s just a fancy golf I am really impressed. It is a gift for my little brother (his first car) he is absolutely over the moon. Unfortunately I went a little over budget (I started with a 5k budget lol); it worked out to 19k + 600 quid to retrofit the SatNav

Im really tempted to Revo it but its fast enough for now:D

I breathed a huge sigh of relief when i read it wasn't a diesel!

Get the wheels painted black :-P

Nice car - hope your little borther has fun with it :-)

Whose is the Roller/Bentley?

I'm no car expert but would'nt the brakes be a lot better after they have time to bed in?

That I dont know, I have never had a new car before but I get a really strong plastic burning smell from the car when I take it for a drive which seems to be coming form the wheels.

I took the pics in our underground car park. The building is full of Russians who have way too much money. I had a quick walk around the car park today, spotted a GTR, 3 Ferraris, couple of Maseratis, few 911’s lots of S-Classes, BMW X6’s and Cayenne’s

that is awesome.

now expect some indirect put-downs, either relating to you, your finances etc

Yah I am half expecting it :(

I sometimes buy my brother a hat, a jumper, a CD... you bought yours a car. I hope he appreciates it!

It's a lot cooler than a Golf, that's for certain. What do you think of the interior quality? Will it stand the test of time?

LOL he has been a really good kid, done will in his exams (also a med student), helped me with my businesses over the last couple of years and not asked to be paid....

The interior quality is not bad at all, the only part that I am not happy with is the area between the 2 seats which is quite nasty plastic everything else is fine. The seats are really comfortable. He will only keep the car for 3 years as he will finish uni in late 2013 and move back to the uk.

No viper green?

Disappointing.

Naa its a little OTT
