Picked up the new scirocco

House, you mentioned REVO...

Let us know what you decide on, been wanting to get my mk5 GTI done but can't decide between REVO and APR.

I have had a revo map on my Audi TT in the past. I was really really pleased with it.

I was thinking about the superchips bluefin map. However I know a local guy that does them which would only cost me a few quid (250 to 300) but I dont know If I want to risk it. I may just stick to revo.

Would be interested to see some pics of the interior.

I dont have my camera but I will post some up over the weekend when I get it back.

So after 3 and half years and 18 000 miles I sold the car as we no longer live in Prague.

I lost £6700 in depreciation but due to some government stimulation programs I probably saved about £4000 (I need to check the numbers with my accountant).

The car was faultless, its never been back to the dealer to fix anything so overall its been a excellent ownership experience.

I don't get it, I thought you said it was a gift for your brother? :p

It was for the time he lived in czech, we both moved back to the uk around 10 months ago so its been sitting there. Plan is to use the money from the sale to buy him a car in the uk. Ideally something like a 123d coupe or a nice golf

Its odd that you find the steering light, its very heavy on my mk5 Golf GTI and a friends Mk5 golf. It is however electric and the assistance level can be changed so it might just be the Scirocco is set up to have the steering a bit lighter.

Edit: just realised how old the start of this thread is

According to wiki the R is based on the GT24 rather than Golf V (of the other models) - think the later Scirocco are based on the the mk6 golf platform anyhow which has a marked difference in steering feel (probably due to the electronics) to older golfs.

You spent 19k+ on a car with a broken sunroof and what you feel are brake problems?

Maybe I am missing something, but the car was bought brand new but it was a stock car so nothing was broken.

However I did have the window smashed and Sat Nav stolen a couple of times.

The sunroof is probably a panoramic glass roof that isn't designed to open. Not that it is broken, it simply doesn't open. And poor brakes doesn't imply broken brakes either, just that they are rubbish.

Yes this, nothing was broken just that the glass roof is not supposed to open and its got cheap small brakes.

nice little first car, I had the diesel version as a courtesy car for a while and thought it was a decent all round car, The diesel engine was very quite from inside the cabin, you can't hear the engine much at all.
