Well hopefully

Have had massive problems with my bank being idiots and messing up my loan (nothing to do with me as my credit rating etc is top notch, just admin errors, grr) and finally got the dosh today and a bankers draft for the car.

Was going to get it today but the dealer called to say that ther was a further problem with the Sat Nav :(

When I tested the car the SATNAV didn't work and when I pressed the disc eject button no disc appeared so we all assumed there wasn't one so the Dealer ordered one.

Turns out it was in there but the unit had died so he stuck it into the local main dealer to get it changed. I then got a call today to say that they changed it but it appears the headunit/screen died with it so they are getting another one and fitting it tomorrow morning.

I know I shouldn't but I feel bad for the Dealer as this is costing him the best part of £2000, what with the £300+ he spent fully stripping and repolishing the alloys and then respraying the front and rear bumpers (at my request due to minor marks) he has spent a fair old whack on geting the car up to scratch.

He has been so apologetic for the delays and has allways said that he will only sell a car in the condition that he would want his own car to be in, and that his reputation is very important to him.

As I am only paying £20,000 for the car which is a bargin I hope he didn't pay too much for it himself otherwise he won't be making jack on it :P

I know that none of this is my prob and he is clearly minted (he drives a new M5 and was looking for yachts last year) but he is a top bloke.

Still tomorrow should be the day and I will be going camera crazy so 90% of you can cry at the colour and the other 10% can love it like me ;)

I quite like the colour of it myself, I'm not up to speed on BMW's though so is it a massive improvement performance wise? I wouldn't say its a cheap car to own but you are getting a good deal on it IMO.

My best mate has my e36 now and lives near the king Alfred swimming pool so you will see that rolling about. I live in the 'slade so you may have seen it around there.

There are 3 other Estoril blue coups and 1 vert that I have seen in Brighton but my old one is the only one with AC Schnitzer Type II 18s on

I did go for the marmite like Pheonix Yellow as for me that is what a e46 M3 should be like the Estoril blue was for the e36 M3

Performance wise they are 343bhp but unlike the e36 m3 they do get closer to that on the dyno. The e3 feels more raw and the e46 more civilised but is still mad when you go for it. Speed wise they are around .5 sec faster to 60 than the e36 but this is more to dowith the higher rev limiter and shorter gear ratios to take this into account.

If you still are looking to get you wheels redone I will get the details of who did the ones on mine and take pictures of them as they were a bit curbed and the centres on the rears had started to go milky in tru m3 stylie ;)

Wow, a hell of a vehicle for the price!! You must be really pleased with it.

I actually really like the colour, don't think it'd suit many cars, but looks good on the M3.

I guess it'll make it stand out a fair bit though, you'll have to be careful you don't get too much unwanted attention from either others wanting a race, or the boys in blue.

Only been tugged once in the e36 by the fuzz (fnarr fnarr) an I was a speeding.

Most peeps leave ou alone in the m3 as it does command respect from car and non car lovers a like.

Although I did get hasseled by an AMG SLK55 which did out perform me but still couldn't lose me ;)

A Clio 172 thought he was on a winner as he nailed it away from me around a curved sliproad but I just didn't fancy doing multiple 360s down the road as it was raining, got onto the straight and gave him a nod as I powered by effortlessly in 6th :)

going for a jolly with the misses as she is going to test drive a Boxter

Great Car & a great price Steve.

Looks wonderful, I'm interested to hear your opinions of it once your used to it.

I'm sure its way better than the e36, but it'll be nice to see a back to back comparison.....

Enjoy it mate. :)
