Pico 4 out soon?

The Pico headsets are generally good hardware but it's the OS and wireless PC support that lets them down. Hopefully Pico have solved this.

I have hear that it is going to be more expensive than the Pico 4 and Quest 3.
I have also heard that, at least in China you can part exchange your Pico 4 and get the Pico 4 Ultra.

Pico 4 Ultra available for pre-order today, released on the 20th September 2024. Pre-order includes 2 motion trackers and 4 games.

Interesting. I wonder how heavy the controllers are compared to the Meta Pro Controllers?
I don't really like the Q3 controller feel - they feel a bit too lightweight and cheap. They do track really well though.

The Quest 3 controllers weigh 103g each not including AA battery at 31g. Asssuming a similar weight for the Pico 4 controller with a second AA battery would be about 165g, which would have a nice heft to it.

I see the Ultra on pre order now. Whilst VD is an option how likely will it be to get Steam Link app updated to work with it.?
From one video I watched it noted that it was not available at this point.

do you still have to buy them and the money go to meta (like with ReVive) if so this is great news and meta may not even mind.

or is this full on piracy in which case that sucks..... though would be nice if it encouraged meta to come up with a more official solution for pico gamers to *buy* quest titles.
