I quite like it, not what I would do myself but its still a tidy looking motor.

My next mod would be a ford badge for your grill ;) :p

I've got the admit the front grill does look a bit bare but no Ford badge is going on there!
Maybe the new Zetec S badge would look nice.

This forum is rapidly going down hill.
The bloke takes the time to wash, polish, take a few pics of his car, then post them for all to see and just because its got a few mods you guys rip it to bits. I bet if he had posted a picture of a crappy mondeo that was 100% standard you would be loveing it and congratulating him on his purchase.
This forum seems to be full of people who just love to jump on the anti chav bandwaggon and slate anyone who changed a few bits on there car.

To be totally honest i knew i would get this sort of reaction but i'm an attention whore:P

Just wondering about the 6x9 and sub box, do the 6x9s actually sound all that good if they are working against the massive airflow of the sub box? Would they be any better if they were boxed in themselves?

Nice mods, but it's still a Ford ;)

The 6x9's ive got are not good at all. They are crappy Sony Xplods.
I havent set the gain levels on my amp properly either, i just adjust them a tad if i find the bass is too much.
The 6x9's are not producing bass, they just provide treble and they dont actually sound too bad.
I'm just going to carry on hammering my 6x9's till they die.

I expected as much - which is why heavy modding seems so strange to me. I was once told of someone who purchased a Fiesta for 6k then spent 6k on mods... perhaps the person should have purchased a slightly older Z3 Roadster and left it unmodded...

One of my friends recently purchased an ex showcar.
It cost him £4500.
The car is a K reg 106 (the older shape) with the rubbish 1.0 Carb engine.
How it makes me cringe that he spent that much on such an old and slow car :(

I don't think i'll post pics of his car because i know you'll rip it apart! :D

I think the wheels are a little big and you need to lose the twin exhausts (it's still a Fiesta no matter what you do to it). Other than that though, it's not too bad.

I think some people don't realise that it isnt just a run of the mill mk5 Fiesta with a pony 1.25 engine (a great engine though).
It's a Fiesta Zetec S (basically the GTi of Fiestas).

Those SPLX subs, if so RESPECT, SHABBA!

No way!
SPLX = i wouldnt even spit on one, they just are not worth it.
I've got 2 x 10" Mutant subs in their enclosure. They are quite good.

Praise the lord for that then, cause thats a standard cheapo splx enclosure you see down your local automotive store.

Correct me if im wrong but SPLX copied the Mutant enclosure design.
Below are pics of both the SPLX encloser and the Mutant one.
The Mutant one just looks nicer even though they have the same design.

See what i mean?

thats a bog standard (and awful) bandpass design. Did splx really copy mutant? or did they both copy vibe? or did all 3 copy pro-plus, and earthquake, and eminence......you get the idea.

Not sure who copied who i've only seen the design by SPLX for a couple of months at my local Motor World.
I wanted the enclosure to fully house the subs because when i do sometimes cram stuff in my boot around my sub then it doesnt affect the performance of the subs at all.
If i had the 'normal' sub box enclosure where you can actually touch the sub then having anything touching the woofer while it is on kills the sound dramatically.

Did the question about shorting the amp get answered? I couldn't find a post with the answer in?

Nope it didnt get answered.
I'm pretty sure i am doing the best thing by covering the contacts up with electrical tape.
It's just hassle really having to tape them up individually.
I would be glad if someone could answer it for me so i can return the roll of electrical tape i borrowed off a mate about a month ago if it is not needed :o

Really like the wheels always have likes those style nice in the 17's as well, i would be tempted to see if its possible to drop the car another 20-25mm they would sit right in then :D , the zorst looks a little large but hey nice car.

As for chav definatly not very few cars really are chav i think its just a term people use for cars which have had a few quid spend on them and they dont like the look of it, its over used imho.

Thanks!
I won't be lowering the car any further because at the moment the car looks perfectly lowered to me and the wheels dont rub in the arches either. i dont have any problems going over speed bumps as well.
