Here's what I have so far...

New phone which I must say I am very happy with so far. Loving Android but the battery life is terrible. Only lasts a day!!!

My new massive mug from Alton Towers, holds 2 pints.

New pair of mountain biking gloves, really comfortable. Had Specialized ones before and always been happy with them.

I've also purchased a new bike but that needs cleaning a little bit first before I post pictures. :p

It is an excellent opera. The ROs cast are always the best of the best (prices reflect this!) and their sets always leave me amazed.

I can't persuade my wife to go to the opera but we're going to see The Nutcracker there in January.

FiiO E7 + connector for my old iPod + SE215 earbuds. The E7's plugged into my HD25 headphones, the SE215 earphones are for the gym + when cans aren't suitable.

any reason why you chose the E7 over the E11?

the E11 is better for sound quality and cheaper, but the E7 is a DAC also, i take it you actually use it as a DAC then?

Not something I own but is something I want to own in the future (Far too expensive at the minute, ~450 quid!) and that Caanoo reminded me of it.

FF7 on the OpenPandora;

Ashen's review about it;

Nom. This stuff is dangerously tasty! As you can see I've already made a start :p

A cheap eyemask off the bay to compensate for living in student digs on a busy road with curtains made from tracing paper, and a street-light outside my window.

New toy #1, a <30mW 532nm green laser pointer. Absolutely amazing on a clear night, can 'point' to stars and such - very cool with google sky maps.

New toy #2, Asus EeePad Transformer. Very snazzy, syncs up to my google account and uni email, has GPS, Wifi, the whole shabang. Still learning and putting stuff on it, but so far I've got a version of office for lectures, synced up my google calendar and my uni timetable on it. Very cool. I cleaned the screen especially to post here :p If you look carefully you can actually see my Leeds 2008 lineup poster in the reflection.

Expensive beginning to the month, but hey, worked solidly over the summer so I thought I'd treat myself a tad :)

The headphone socket on my iPod's broken. It failed before, but I switched out the part. CBA with doing that again, at the moment!

huh?

you use the E11 with the line out, which you would need a line out cable for which costs £5.

it would be pointless using an amp with the headphone out on an ipod, as your then amping the same signal twice, but it goes through a "weak" amp first then a semi decent amp second, therefore your amplifying a rubbishy signal.

if you use line out straight into a semi decent amp then you bypass the "weak" amp, meaning your using a clean signal therefore the sound quality is a lot better.

i posted this info earlier on in the thread

you dont use them on the ipods headphone out socket.

first of all you need to buy a line out cable for your ipod the L9 is around £7 and is a good line out for the ipod.

by using the line out, you bypass the low power amp of the ipod, which can distort sound the higher you output it.

basically line out is much higher quality signal sound wise than the headphone out, the difference is very noticeable.

but line out has no power, therefore you need to amplify it with an amp, thats where the portable amp comes in, cheap amps will make the decent line out signal sound rubbish, so make sure you get a decent amp.

also why are you guys buying the E6? the E11 is a much better amp and for only £40, and you can carry multiple spare batteries (they use nokia batteries) for it if you need it for longer than 10 hours straight.

i know size may be an issue, but the e11 comes with a band and you simply attach it to your mp3 player, sure it makes your mp3 player twice as bulky but the e6 is extra bulk too.

E11>E6 unless your using whilst jogging.

the E11 also has a lot more options than the E6, much higher sound quality, etc. the whole reason why you guys bought the e6 in the first place.

for me the E6 would be something i would use where the E11 couldnt be used (jogging).

my setup currently is

ipod touch >> headphone out >> sennheiser hd25-1 II

in the future it will be

ipod touch >> Fiio L9 line out >> Fiio E11 >> HD25-1 II

the difference in quality will be worth the £50 outlay.

also if you are buying fiio products get them from a proper reseller which is shown on fiios official site, there are a lot of fakes out there using cheap components, meaning the sound quality isnt as good.

the E11 is better than the E7, the E7 is the same as the E6 quality wise.

Picked up some SE215's this week (got the clear versions though :p ) seriously impressed with the quality and sound isolation of them and have been using an E5 with them for when I'm around the house and really improves the bottom end :)

Those forks look fantastic.

I have Recon TK Silver Solo Airs on my new bike. When I feel they need changing I'll be getting some Reba's as an upgrade. :D
