Hehe. No, my wife is coming with me. Next week we are off to the Cairngorms for a 3-4 day training backpacking trip. Then next year we are walking 2650 miles from Mexico to Canada, through deserts mountains and forests over 6 months. Can't wait.

Yeah sorry, lack of quoting.. I'd be interested in getting one. Sometimes use bread/potatoe to line the bottom of our rice dishes and use a bit of oil, let it crisp up. Rice cooker would make things a little easier.

Ah right ok
Cost me around £189. It's very good, the rice seems better than my previous rice cooker. I've got the largest model so it makes about 20 bowls of rice if I needed it to, but I'll be using it to make soup (congee) in big batches so the large size will come in handy.
It plays funny tunes when it starts to cook, and when it finishes
There's a handy timer function which lets me set when I want the rice to be ready. So in theory, I could set it all up in the morning so that the rice is ready as soon as I get back!

Is that the Pacific Crest Trail or Great Divide or something like that?
