Nooo dont do it,if you must use TRAKTOR get the timecoded disks or vinyl,yes you will need Some CDJ'S OR Technics,but it's the best way to DJ trust me i've been at it for 23 years,learn the trade the correct way.

...and end up spending over a grand on equipment just to use it to mix some tunes together and throw in a few samples.

I went from vinyl to cdjs and now to traktor with the Kontrol S2 and the principles are all the same. Over the years dj'ing has probably cost me over £6000 in changed/upgraded equipment.

You're only as good a dj as the tunes you mix and the vibe you create. Whatever tool you use doesn't matter.

If you can only afford the Kontrol S2 then just buy that, no need to buy 2 cdjs/decks, mixer, timecoded vinyls and Traktor.
