sooooooooooo good with lashings of vinegar :P

anyone else here a fan of it? and how many of you have never heard of it or tried it?

*waits for people asking what liquor is as well* lol

:)

It is my favourite meal. My mums family is from Bethnal Green so I have been brought up on the stuff. I run across so many foodies on the net who dismiss it because it's too working class and doesn't look like fine dining. However I do have one problem. 1 PIE!!! WHAT ARE YOU, MAN OR MOUSE??

Now, I'm a Yorkshirewoman and have never had pie, mash and liquor. I've heard of it and seen it, obviously, but it has always intrigued me what the liquor is made of - is it very herby?

Here in Yorkshire we have pie, mash and gravy!

liqour is just parsley sauce, its not herby at all but has to be eaten with lashings and lashings of vinegar :)

i only have pie mash n liqour from pie and mash shop as no pie is the same then the ones you get from pie n mash shop.

When you said liqour I thought it was going to be an alcohol based pie :) I've never tried it or for that matter even heard of it before, certainly different from my first choice of gravy.

Flour, butter, water (traditionally left over water from cooking eels), parsley, salt, pepper and vinegar.

Pie and mash with either gravy or liquor, always good.

Havent had pie and mash for years. Last time was in bexley though i dunno if that place is still open. Think roman road had a good one - may still be open. 2 pie 2 mash and liquor sauce :D

Anybody know if the one in hastings is still open? May have to go another day :)

This has had a lot of media coverage lately with Pie and Mash shops appearing on programs with Jamie Oliver and the Hairy Bikers and such.

Never tried a Pie Mash and Liquor from a proper shop, but it is definitely my kind of food. However, by the sounds of it you will have to hurry up if you want to give it a go, as a lot are shutting down as people stop going :(

I'm not being childish that liquer looks like baby sick

The only think a pie needs is gravy and some form of potato
