pie, mash and liquor :)

When people turn their nose up and get precious over something as basic as a parsley sauce you've got to wonder what foods they actually will try :p

+1

I assume they must also turn their nose up at fish an parsley sauce and well any light coloured gravy/sauce.

How about cheese sauce.

Cheese sauce is really nice if you use the right cheese, but gravy, sorry to say, has to be thick, not as thick as custard but thick, watery gravy is pointless IMO.

Try putting marmite in your gravy, I hate marmite but in gravy it gives it a really nice flavour

I'm not one to shy away from eating *anything*, but pie and mash without gravy is just so incredibly wrong :p

The pastry is differant from normal pies, it's a very light water pastry and the filling is always minced lamb. Doesn't have a thick gravy inside either like you get with normal pies.

Seriously if you ever get the chance to try it, make sure you do it's something thy shouldn't be knocked till its been tried.

As for the parsley sauce not being herby :p it's not its not over powering in flavour is what I mean.

What pie and mash shop do you use? I visit the one on Chris street in poplar!! proper east end!

always double pie and mash though unless your some kinda pansy. Even my girl mates do the double! they are slags though.

Dude

I'm no stranger to Pie n mash or jellied eels having originated from daan sarf, but this liquor stuff is completely new to me. Can't think how I missed it tbh.

Pies are all the rage up here (and Scotland in general lol), so it's a shame no-one has opened a pie n mash shop. It'd go down a treat :)
