Piercing Q's (FAO Blackstar/Penksi really... :) )

I've never had an infected piercing in 4 years

I've had one or two almost go, but always managed to catch it with hydrogen peroxide.

To be honest it's really not hard to look after piercings if you've got your head screwed on and aren't dense/ignorant/outright stupid.

I've had to have 2 rim piercings removed due to excess swelling caused by "stress" - 1 of them was because I tried getting 2 done at the same time and the second one didn't like it, the other time was after my CT scan; the piercing didn't like being changed to a plasic ring and then back to the ring. Had them both re-done though :)

Main one I still have problems with is my navel piercing - I got it done about 4-5 years ago by a butcher and it still hasn't healed properly :( I keep thinking about taking it out, letting it heal and getting it re-done, I'm just not sure if it will heal after this amount of time (answers on a postcard?)

I can't get any facial piercings as my boss wouldn't like it, so for now I'm just working on my ear :)

It will, piercings are like that they are a bit weird belly buttons often heal up very quickly even if they are old. My advice definatly go see your peircer they will be able to tell you for sure how things will work.

While we're on the subject of piercings, I finally went and had 2 done :D

No, there will not be any pics :p

Had my ears done years ago, and I hate wearing earrings- they're just not comfortable for me. Had my nose done twice, and it's finally healed properly for the 2nd time.

It's a really big deal for me having had these done because I'm petrified of needles. To the point where both times I had my nose done I had it done with the gun. Strangely enough, I'll happily sit and have a tattoo done, but the idea of a needle piercing my skin any deeper than that just freaks me out. I have been known to need anti hystemiene shots after injections.

**It's really not a good idea to have anything that isnt supposed to be pierced with the gun done with the gun. In fact, it's potentially very dangerous. So dont do it! any reputable piercer will not do it.**

It's only gay if you push back (against the needle) ;)

The most awkward stretch is from 6mm upwards as nowhere does 7mm jewelery.

7mm/1g stuff is available pretty easily now. I bought some 1g plugs last week.

Are you helpful, knowledgable and friendly?

If yes, they won't care.

I get jobs, and I've got a bit more than just a scaffold. Your character will override any piercings you have in your ears, especially these days.

Image counts for a lot and if you're in a customer facing role then a lot of companies take it into account. Our company won't even let our drivers grow facial hair without permission, and we only distribute glass!

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against piercings of any description, all I'm saying is that you're looking to work with the general public then a visible piercing possibly isn't the best career move you could ever make.

In my old job I had to deal with customers plenty. None of them ever seemed bothered, because I was good at my job, as well as helpful and friendly.

I really am of the opinion that if you're good at your job and make people feel at home - as any customer facing employee should - then unless you're seriously pierced up to the max, many people will barely even notice them.

Granted, a company with strict rules on that sort of thing won't hire you, and often neither will an interviewer who just doesn't like the piercings, but.. I dunno if I'd want to work for them anyway to be honest.

Also, regular gauge piercings come out and leave almost no mark at all, so if you feel it affects your job.. pull it out.

Thanks for your advice. Got my eyebrow pierced earlier. Only took about 5 mins from when I entered the shop. Barely felt it going through really.

Still got the ink on it :o

Be careful getting changed you can catch it easily on clothes. Swollen yet?

Took almost an hour to get mine done last tuesday. I didnt know if I wanted both doing, so he only set up one. Didnt take long to set up, but he took his time so that he couldnt have anymore appointments, lol.

He was a really nice bloke, and really made me feel at ease. I totally intend to go back and get at least one more thing done soon.

It's pretty addictive once you get one you start thinking oh i'd really like this done. I'm trying to think what i could get done next i dislike eyebrow piercings so not that and my dad limits what else i can get on my face. Could get get belly button numbers 5 and 6.

Matched pair of OL's tbh.

With 3.2mm rings, 12mm inside diameter.

I like symmetrical piercings...I like the whole 'balance' thing.
