Pilau Rice - British restaurant version

Psycho Sonny.

Please name the following:-

1 - the name of the brand of rice you used
2 - the name of the resturaunt you mentioned that your parents used to own. Or it's new name, or the street it is in. We will go pay a visit.

For someone who talked like an expert, it seems to me that it is kind of ridiculous how you have never cooked rice in your life and didn't know how to. Yet you talk and talk like you can. Yes, good ingredients is important but don't you think the cook is too? I'd love to believe you that this super rice with no name is really that good but how can I trust someone who has never cooked rice in their life before? Especially a person who eats it every day in his life.

Retired martial artist who has all the skills? Lol it's like Bruce Lee who can defeat 100 armed men but don't know how to kick?

Yes, I agree that resturaunt food is tailored to home cooking. We all know that but your posts went much wider, oh went into how you know all the traders to Richard Brandson, yet never cooked rice in your life!

Presumably it's Sitar or Ashoka Shak; TripAdvisor has them down as the only other two Indian restaurants in Paisley. Given Ashoka Shak is a chain, presumably the restaurant in question is Sitar.

I'm not sure what relevance any of it has though, I believe Sonny has already said he has nothing to do with the actual restaurant any more so unless someone has a time machine I can't really see what any of you could gauge by going there to eat. It could be great, average or pretty terrible and it wouldn't really contradict or legitimise anything Sonny has said.

I have seen 10kg bags in supermarkets but around Wigan tends not to have Asians so no need for them to sell.

Also rice is rice, no?

To the extent that it's all the same basic product then maybe but the question is a bit like asking if all teas are the same - there's distinct differences between Earl Gray, Assam, Darjeeling, Kenyan etc etc. It's possible to serve them all and call them the same basic product but provided your palate isn't defunct you can notice a difference.

I hope DominicStar has gained something useful out of the thread though as the majority of the posts seem to be extraneous arguments. To prevent this post being just a continuation of that, here's a link to a recipe on the BBC which contains quantities.

all of the above has already been answered

No it hasn't

All of his posts are like this, I think he just lives in a fantasy world where he knows everything. 99% is most likely made up.

Ever remember the thread in Motors where he thought he knew everything about every car because, and I quote, "i have also sat in over 1000 cars, i know what a good car is". And not forgetting the famous "my cousin had an M3 and he spent on average £500 a week in petrol".

Every single post is just hilariously cringeworthy and full of lies.

I have an idea why he is like this. At work we have a wide circle of colleagues from all kind of backgrounds. One of which are Sikh and they explained to me their culture. Long story short, the boys in the family are treated like a prince. It would explains a lot.

You might be on to something there though...

This is probably due to people such as yourselves being ripped off by paying £60 for a 10kgs bag.

hmmmmmm a rice expert appears.

confirms what i said is indeed correct.

I find this part the funniest.

anything-but basically said that Psycho Sonny has been ripped off for years paying £80 per 10kg when it can be obtained much cheaper for quality rice.

He somehow thinks he is "correct" ? LOL :D

anything-but also gave us a name - "Badshah Royale" in his first post in the thread but Psycho Sonny has not.

Also the two questions you asked him, he said they had both been answered, which they hadn't and he knows full well they haven't as he refuses to name his amazing super awesome half a million pound restaurant or the brand of the solid gold £25 a grain rice they use.

I know, as far as I am concerned, he has lost all credibility with me.

Also, in the thread below he named his restaurant after constantly refusing to like he has in this thread.

But when I named it in this thread he said that wasn't the one.

Anyway, if you want another good laugh, read through that thread, it's Psycho Sonny comedy gold!

Also this will make you laugh, being a photographer!

Just read this, hilarious!

not really, i find there are far more important things in life, it's only a game, i prefer to actually play football (5 a side) than watch it on tv.

my family actually own a 5 a side complex in Fife.

lol, does it mention playing styles?

i know st mirren well because we own several properties in paisley and i also used to play football in ferguslie park, round the corner from the new stadium, etc.

I think Raymond (welcome back by the way - I was asking after you a few weeks ago, wondering where you had gone. Might fire you a trust message regarding a trip to Hong Kong in the coming days!) is correct. There's obviously something in his culture which makes him feel that he needs to big himself up all the time.
