ping 1728 ... WHAT!?

when i was with them we must have spent on the plus side of 20 hours to try and sort our connection, it was useless.

whereas virgin are really good only like 1% i get a problem and when i do it sorts itself out within 30 mins.

Virgin is good if you live in an area with brand spanking new equipment or an area with low - normal demand. In my Part of East London its dire some nights. The 10mbit pack im on is evil in the evenings. The traffic shaping management is harsh as well - I think it kicks in after 500mb? that's hardly a couple of episodes of Eastenders.
I really might look into an upgrade back to 20 or 50mbit and get off this crapfest.

this story was cool brought to you by my brother.

Ring Virgin. Moan. Ask to cancel contract. Recieve XL broadband and one of their shiny new modems. Profit!

Only reason I'm still with VM tbh, now got a constant 17-18mbps. Old modem appears to have the culprit, pings used to be all over the place too, now all nice and low (<100).

So the opening story you were originally complaining about is now used to berate BT and praise VM?

And to the OP:

enthralling tale, fellow gang member!
