Pioneer CDJs

FC1983 is right. Pioneer are industry standard for cd. CDJ800's are great, if you get good second hand ones then save up for the cdj1000's. You'll get your money back on the 800's to put to the 1000's and you'll have the experience of the jog wheel.

I have a 100 and I think it's the biz for what I use it for. The effects are handy, the -10/+16 is a fine pitch range and even though there is no looping I just hook the pc up to the mixer for looping.

The 1000's have made many of today's dj's good due to the start point's on a mmc which make looping etc a lot easier.

the 1000s main advantages are that the jog wheel is simply amazing quality, feels great, and that its sort of industry standard. wouldnt bother with them for messing about in your bedroom.

theres loads of cool vids on you tube of the denons doing all sorts of fancy stuff and id probably swing that way if i where to get my own cd decks

i quite like the looks of 2 CDJ800's:

and a Behringer DJX700:

the mixer has built in effects, high, med, low kill, reverb, flange etc

what does everyone think? :)

i'd have the computer connected to 2 channels and the cdjs connected to the other 2, and use the computer for acapellas, samples etc :)

Seems a good choice. The pioneers are pricey though. Personally i would go for Denon DNS-3500s if i was looking for a bedroom CD deck

edit: however they are a bit pricier again lol. but they pack far more features

i'd go the cdj800's personally if you can't fund the 1000's.
The behringer mixer is a complete rip of the pioneer djm600(i think). Got everything you'll need for the bedroom. There reliability is questionable but for a third of the price of the pioneer who's complaining.

There's plenty of comparison sites about to see the differences.

I think www.i-dj.co.uk still has the review's on it that should outline the differences.

must admit for £130 i think its damn impressive, ive never used a mixer with cue buttons etc and that many knobs so my first mix will be interesting :p

need to convince my parents that its a worth investment and they may chip in and help me :p

luckily my dads deaf as a doorknob anyway :D

edit: interesting site - thanks :D

mmm the 800 doesnt have the hot cue points :( could you still be messing about cutting a loop etc and hit cue and it play from a preset point though? is the hot-cue the 1000 basically the same just you can store 3?
